The comparison with Windows 8 was merely to point out how things got from an ok UI (the one that does the job) to a UI simplified to the point that has become annoying and hard to use.

Actually the changed operations are much easier and more efficient than iOS 1-6.  Annoying only to those with significant learning curve challenges.

And there is another resemblance - and actual phyiscal one - the nonsensical flat UI aspect which was actually a great thing in 1987 or so.

You need to educate yourself about the difference between one dimensional and flat design. Just look at the iOS 7 home screen, vs 1987 DOS... Not at all the same.  The pseudo 3d and skeuomorphic designs have been annoying, inefficient, and growing ugly for some time.

Based on the number of people who have voiced their discontentment, it's pretty clear that the latest iteration of IOS doesn't stand out as one of Apple's greatest moments.

Insignificant and inconsequential numbers.  Apple is doing better with iOS 7 than it has for 2 years.

Do you actually think that the white text on pale green is easier to read? Stop talking nonsense. You are clearly not a designer or else if you are then a very poor one. It is actually pretty funny to see Apple copying Windows 8 (which also doesn't look great) and you pretending 'it just ain't so'. Hilatious actually.

So you're saying iOS 6 and Widows 7 are similar since they both look good to you.

No he is not saying that ... he is right in that what they have in common is that they both look better than what came after. Is that hard to understand?

As an aside, it makes me laugh that those like you who act as as the 'defenders of the faith' are also the ones who proudly list their list of Apple products. Too funny.

The other thing that is very funny is that when there are posts (like mine) that are critical, they get reported and removed by your lot.

It may be the end of story for you, but I'm sure Tim Cook disagrees with you, as I and many users do. And no one cares whether you return your phone.

So ... you actually think iOS7 looks good? Are you 12?

This sort of nonsense got your posts pulled before. Berating people because their taste is different than yours is rude. Desist. As has been pointed out to you before, the only "lot" who can delete posts are the Hosts.

I like iOS 7 very much and I'm probably old enough to be your mother. I also work with Windows 8 devices quite a bit and can state from experience that they look nothing like iOS 7.

If your happy with iOS 7 good for you but I think you will find most people on here do not like iOS 7 . Windows and android's  OS have a flat minimal look which Apple have decided to copy. What mead Apple different is the had there own unique look which was skeuomorphism now the look like every other OS on the market today . I like many things on iOS 7 like the control Center and the weather app but I would go back to iOS 6 if Apple would allow me. The icons look like something a 6 year child would design and everything white is blinding and gives me a headache  I find it slow and the battery drains its also seems iOS 7 is very rushed and not designed well.

The fact with every iOS 7  update there putting more and more options to allow you change things like the fonts etc is not really giving the view of iOS 7 as a success .

Is asking questions is now considered nonsense? I hope not. It is cute to see how you all jump to each others' defense though. I work with both too and there is a similarity in the direction even if you don't want to see it.

As for deleting posts ... it is a bit churlish, wouldn't you say? And I am sure there has to be some tittle-tattling going on for the 'Hosts' (Overlords?) to even notice my mildly ascerbic posts. It is all meant to be a bit tongue in cheek but the defensiveness of some people on here is staggering.

You may well like iOS7 but that doesn't mean it is well designed. Design principles are what they are and when it is poor/bad/wrong then that's what it is. Not everything is always a matter of opinion. This is not meant to be arrogant ... it just is.

If by "here" you mean this whine-fest thread, that's utterly inconsequential.  If you meant the real world and the rest of Apple Communities, you are grotesquely misinformed, deluded, or dishonest.

You may not like it. That doesn't mean it's badly designed. The notion that there is some sort of sacred set of unchanging design principles is, well, amusing. And, even if there were, and even if I cared, I think I'd go with Ives's interpretation over yours.

As I've noted before, I've never reported you. I find your posts generally harmlessly funny.

As I said I think most people on this thread How to uninstall iOS 7 and it's on 148 pages at present do not like ios 7 or have major problems with it  .I'm not into calling people dishonest or anything else but thank you for your reply to my comment .

Well some childish sourpuss must have. No matter. At least you seem to understand there was meant to be some humour in there.

There are some design principles that have been unchanging for hundreds of years so I would disagree with you on that. And the same goes for usability principles ... white text on pale green ... purleaase.

Ives's industrial design skills are second to none and I think Apple hardware is beautiful almost without exception. iOS7 on the other had is just not well designed

If you actually count the number of "people" posting (even assuming there are no multiple identites, which is certainly not the case), the total is well under 100, which is inconsequential.   There were more posting in an even longer thread last year wanting to revert to iOS 5 from iOS 6.
