Proteous714, was that sarcasm as well? Lol.

I've given up hoping to go back to ios6, at least my other iPad is still on it, but do look forward to a better ios8 next year.

I do have one question though, can I restore my iPad to a previous  backup from before I installed ios7? Sorry if this is a bad question as I work long hrs and really don't have time or the aptitude to know better. But I can fabricate just about anything my employer needs at work:)

    Fun fact:

    Type "How to revert"

into google and guess what the first, and therfore most popular, auto-fill is?

    "How to revert to IOS6"

Proteous714, I was referring to your reply to Allen's post, not the one with the poll.

Wish I could have made a vote to go back to ios6 though

It is no reason to bring again in discussion aspects regarding an IOS made obsolete. Once the advantages of the new iOS as functionality and graphical feature will be understood by  you will be assimilated  easier be your community.

Any resistance is futile  as development and support will focus on the new platform only

Understood ViperSK1... I'm fairly certain that you cannot unfortunately use an IOS 6 backup on your IOS 7 device. If you keep those backup's and at any point in the future are successful in getting ios 6 again, then you could restore them. Alternately, you could also restore those backup's on a different IPhone / IPad still running IOS6.

I, my friend, am not that fatalistic   Resistance is *not* futile

Ok, thanks for the constructive reply. I do appreciate it.

In the meantime my iPhone and daughters iPad run as good or better than my iPad on ios7. Holding out as long as I can with ios6.

You can restore ios6 or 5 backup to iOS 7 device. I have done both.

You can restore those backups to an iOS 7 device but iOS 7 remains on the device.  The backups contain only the device data, not the iOS itself.

As a result the size of this thread.

A nonexistent problem will not generate such a huge, by any standards, debate

Just making a wrong statement over and over again it will make it truth.

The topic of this thread is how to uninstall iOS 7 in iPhones, which was answered in the 3rd post on page 1. It can't be done.  No "wrong statements" about this were ever made.  If suggested alternatives to downgrading the iOS don't satisfy you, that doesn't deny anything.   The vast majority using iOS 7 prefer it.

I'll give this a go again   We had this discussion a couple weeks ago and there are numerous indicators that a large percentage of IOS7 users do *not* prefer IOS7, and would in fact revert to IOS 6 if given the opportunity ...in the order of over 50% of IOS7 users. I dont need to cite evidence to support this statement as I have already done so twice, and in both cases the posts have been removed by one (or more) moderators.

The google auto-fill of "How to revert" is another significant indicator that a large number of users are looking for some way to go back to IOS 6.

also judging by the number of deleted posts I would estimate this thread would be at least twice its current size if the mods were not deleting half the posts that were being made.

You're deluding your self if you really thing anything like half the posts were deleted and it looks like you're gunning for more deletions.  Most of the small percentage of deleted posts were from you and your alts.  If the hosts were at all strict about enforcing the ToU, everything since page one would have been deleted.

You must have worked for the Fox news presidential election polling last year. The truth is about 5-10% and declining over time. I'm for letting you all do so, leaving your devices permanently locked to iOS 6 and accept the inevitable security consequence.

How is it that mildly funny posts are being removed but your sarcastic ones seem to be left alone?

People have a right to opinions and by you repeating the same mantra over and over again in your passive-aggressive way doesn't make the truth go away. iOS7 has a lot of design/usability flaws as well as some functionality problems. Just because your device is OK for you (and I would guess you would praise anything foisted on you by your overlords) doesn't mean there are not a lot of people for whom it is not OK. You sound more delusional to me than the posters you argue against.

As Jon says you don't have any such right here on ASC. You may want to read the TOU again.
