Why do you continue to complain about iOS 7 when you know you can't go back and there is no purpose other to whine?

Why don't you at least make constructive suggestions?

Complaints point to the areas which need improving ... these are in fact suggestions for the way forward. No good just bleating on how perfect it is now. But then again, you are probably too defensive to see that.

Really?  Show me one post I made claiming iOS 7 was "perfect" or anything remotely like it.  Infact, there were several where I listed things that needed fixing/improvement.

Most people whining here drone on about "childish" icons and colors, or how the OS doesn't use the correct "design principles" as it occurs to them.

While you're at it, refresh my memory of what specific suggestiions you made to improve the OS/

OMG you are so pedantic it is pitiful. You may scoff at the concept of good design principles but they do exist and are real, as are good usability principles. It is not a subjective issue at all like you suggest. You must clearly have no design training or understanding since you fail to understand this. When examples are pointed out to you, then all you can do is lower the bar and make fun of disabled people.

Good design is subjective. If it were not everyone would like the same things. You can't seem to grasp the concept that people can disagree with your notion of "good design" and still be people of taste and discernment. When people disagree with you and your ideas of good design, you belittle them, their experience and their opinions. No one objects to the fact you don't like iOS 7. It doesn't make you an idiot. Nor does it make you smarter than people who do like it. It just makes you someone who likes something different than the people who like iOS 7.

    Dear Meg,

You are of course quite right that good 'design' is subjective. 'Design principles' however are not necessarily so. Simple example: light text on light backgoround is not good in most cases as I am sure you would agree. Things like proportion, balance, colour harmony etc. are all sound priniciples.

I do maintain that the new look is horrid, over and above usability issues, and yes this is subjective and a matter of taste but I am afraid anybody who thinks it looks good just doesn't have good taste. I could add 'in my opinion' but where would be the fun in that? Surely we can have a bit of banter now and then without getting our knickers in a twist

There are definitely some idiots on here though (not you ... I think you are fab) and they know who they are!

To clarify, since Meg has said repeatedly that she likes much of iOS 7, you are declaring that she doesn't have good taste, though not an idiot. Right?

Things like proportion, balance, colour harmony etc. are all sound priniciples.

So, you are declaring that the above "principles"  are not subjective, but are constrained by objective criteria (as occurs to you).  Therefore anyone who disagrees with your assessments must have bad taste, be uneducated, or just plain stupid.  Right?

    1) this IOS stuff about if it looks good or not is getting really old. 2) y'all's crap is getting old. 3) how can I like "unsubscribe" from this thread?

Go to top right of this (or any) thread page and under "Actions", select "Stop email notifications."

That way, you can respond to only fresher crap.

    1. Mind your own business ... I am sure Meg can speak up for herself.

    2. They are not really subjective but I don't expect you to understand that.

    3. Not everyone... but definitely you.

You're posting in a public forum for everyone to read, and subject to anyone's response.

    2. They are not really subjective but I don't expect you to understand that.

"Not really subjective" - interesting phrase displaying your expertise in evasive vagueness, trying to escape the obvious that you know nothing .   Yet another example of your parochial concept of design and unearned arrogance.

    3. Not everyone... but definitely you.

Give us an example of someone who disagrees with your evaluation of iOS 7 (or anything else in this solar system) who you do not regard as having bad taste or being an ignorant idiot.

Let me re-phrase that for you:

    Not subjective. Period.

    There, feel better?

Well anybody under the age of 12 would be OK for a start. You on the other hand definitely fall into both of the categories you nicely highlighted in your comment above.

Then it's conclusive that you know nothing about design if you think that there are fixed, "objective" criteria for "proportion, balance, colour harmony" and that they can't be evaluated subjectively.  What a Joke!

That would include no one in this forum, which has a minimum age of 13 to participate.  Did  you lie about your age when you joined?

I am bored with you - you are dismissed. Go away and play with your toys.
