My point was that the answer to your question has been repeated many many times in the near 2500-posts-long thread you decided to revive.  What new information were you expecting?

It is not going to happen no matter how much you cuss about it.

There was the one we both responded to earlier, Meg...those always come out of the woodwork, and not much we can do about helping.

How about the stats from WWDC yesterday: 97% satisfaction rating for iOS 7

500M iPhones sold, >800M iOS Devices.

Ha ha! Forgot you were in on that one.

It's easy to lose track of numbers like that when you hang out here too much. I've a couple of small gripes with iOS 7 but overall, I've enjoyed it. And iOS 8/Yosemite sounds pretty great. I will, however, stay far, far away from the Mac forums when Yosemite comes out. I can't bear to read the "it looks like it was designed by a child/Google/failed graphic designer and Steve would be appalled/is spinning is his grave" threads all over again.

And yet, we'll see them, ad nauseum.

Yeah, bracing myself for that circus again. Still this time last year, very few were starting to complain. It wasn't until it was released when the real myhem started.   And again iOS 8 will have been on Apple's front page for 3 months pror to release for every one to see, and yet there will be threads like

"Why didnn't anybody tell me it looked like iOS7... it *****"    "I want iOS 7 back ... no wait ... I mean iOS 6..."

So, typical for apple (nowadays), I try to open this page and it says 'access denied' the first two times...clicking the link to the 'branched' discussion also says I 'don't have permissions'. Huh?

    Oh, and for iOS7:

My phone almost daily fills up 8 empty gig and needs a reboot (memory leak)

Safari crashes every time I open it up

My other browser 'lost' the keyboard (???)

    Everything is much slower

Readability is way down on my 4S

97% satisfaction with iOS 7? 167 pages of comments and many pages more seems to be an awfully vocal 3% Tim.

Now iOS8 is playing 'catch-up' to Android. I didn't see any features described yesterday which Android doesn't already have.

Next phone is a Galaxy S5. Woo hoo!

Oh, Tim, the reason people still use Win XP and old versions of Android? Because it appears to meet their needs?

    Pretty typical.

Users whining about stuff for no reason...

Those are posts that have been removed by the forum moderators.

As noted, you don't have permsissions to view.

Does this mean we will not see any more of your posts here?

Chris CA, with due respect if you cannot be nice, be quiet.  I am fairly sure your (and likely my) posts will be moderated out of existance within minutes.

Calling an apple supporter "Whining" and encouraging  them to switch to a different phone is not constructuive.  Based on your level, I would assume you know better.

IOS7 and up have significant usablity problems that prior versions do not have.  The least of which are ugly flat icons.  If I had the option to switch back to ios6.1, I would do it in a heartbeat.  I will be upgrading to 8, but only for reasons I cannot discuss on this forum, but be assured it is not for the "features" that apple will add.

I also won't be ugrading to OSX.X - fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice, shame on me.  I'll stay with apple, eventually Ives will be fired/leave/retire.

I'm not having the the usability problems you claim to be having with iOS 7.1.1. I like the interface including the flat icons which I don't see as ugly. Same thing for Mavericks, much easier on the eyes.

A lot of people have problems with change. I wonder if Apple had started with a Jony Ives design and then changed to complex icons and skeumorphism in iOS 7 how long this thread would be then.

I don't doubt that 97% are "satisfied" and 3% hate it. But Apple knows you won't be able to please everyone. They also know that the vast majority really don't care one way or the other as long as the phone does what they want it to do. But you can't please everyone.

Given the success the Mr. Ives has had at Apple I don't think they will be in any hurry for him to leave.
