True enough. This go-round I'm just puzzled as about the complaints of the design. Its not like screen shots even animation haven't been out there for weeks. And not just on Apple's website.

Sometimes I think people (at least some) just thrive on complaining and unnecessary drama.

People are finding that the actual experience is a lot different than screenshots and your comment assumes that people research this stuff. I saw many of the screenshots and read about the system. I had an idea of what it looked like and looked forward to downloading it. I HATED IT and immediately knew I made a big mistake. I was shocked at how poor the actual experience was, and I'm not talking about bugs.

Not everyone is an enthusiast about Apple. Many saw an update show up on their phone and they thought "Update? Apple is good, so I'm sure this is good and I want it." A buddy of mine had no idea what I was talking about when I told him there was an iOS 7 update, but he wanted it. I warned him the next day.

I don't think people are seeking out this forum and signing up to express their opinions unless they felt compelled to. The frustration is palpable. I do know that some posters feel compelled to support Apple, no matter what they do. That is exactly the Group Think that gave is iOS 7.

After the strawman usually comes the ad hominem attacks. Group think?

Strange you should mention that since Apple has a disdain and does not use focus groups when they decide to roll out new products. So I hardly think that Apple is guilty of groupthink.

That's because most people are not LvL 6 who spend countless hours reading and testing apple beta stuff and knowing beforehand that the new OS *****. When our apple phone says "Download a new update?" most everyone will accept it, despite not having a clue what is in the update. Now everyone is being forced into using something some don't like. Most people would settle for a UI update that gave the option for the old look and feel.

LOL, oh man... that IS Group Think. If they used focus groups they would have had outside input and may have avoided this. They are operating in a cocoon. Obviously before they had senior leadership who made the right calls and right designs. Do you think anyone is going to tell Jony Ive's Ego he is wrong? A guy that makes product videos the way he does? Hardly. I doubt he can be "told" anything regarding design.

Here, read up on Group Think: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupthink

So, evidently your answer to alleged group think is to have a group think.

    Makes sense.

How about ios 7 is unstable, slow, and uses 25-30% more power? I don't recall seeing that anywhere before I "upgraded" a perfectly good phone into something that needs to be replaced. My 1st apple product is now worthless after 18 months. Does ANYONE think I'd buy a 5s now? ROFL!

Buying an iphone 5s will fix all the issues you are having, more processing power , faster more responsive ios.

When I got my iPad 4 last year, I thought it was plenty fast and would last a long time. Now it's no longer a pleasure to use thanks to the new ios.

I don't mind the "look" so much as I mind the inability to changed the colors & white text...I have another thread open where I asked about changing colors and someone posted that because they were color blind they could not see the green with white text at all. They initially had troubles answering the phone. The whites strain the eyes and the notes app is now just another word processor ( a word processor with yellow titles and buttons) ... If they just had other color options I think they would keep some customers.

Forgive me cause I read through a lot so I'm going to pick some topics I saw...

Maps: I refuse to even use it, did it kill me? No. But that is one place where Garmin and Google win. My car uses google my motorcycle uses Garmin so I'm covered. ( oh and I have the Google app). My iPhone is not the first thing I have ever thought of for that.

Siri: Might work better...don't know it rarely got much right so I only use it for reminders...but I did notice it won't tell me where to hide a body any more :D

Whiners: I don't think people in general upgrade and expect to have such a adverse reaction that they want to roll back. Personally,, I don't complain about much when it comes to upgrades..iOS 6 was fine, the bugs are par for the course with a new upgrade..I don't complain about FB changes, or twitter or other OSs like Microsoft. I even really like some of the underlying changes but not being able to read the screen, for me, is a deal breaker. I don't consider people with legitimate concerns whiners.

I'm retired, and I have had no issues with being able to use iOS 7.

Don't blame your age on your issues.
