I completely agree with you. It is not treating customers fairly in any way not to give them this option. Apple should mend its ways before it loses more customers to other providers. For the first time in a very long time, I am tempted to do this. Are you even listening, Apple?

Many people have complained and talked about apple losing customers with every update that comes out. What makes you think they will lose them now. They keep gaining customers. In fact ios7 is the fastest adoption for a new os.

People saying you can't are wrong but that's what Apple wants us to think, I have done it before and probably will again, use google you will find it.

Go ahead and then void your warranty and get hacked software on your phone. Just don't expect support from apple if you do decide to illegally downgrade your phone.

I'm sure they'll still be stolen and sold overseas just as the current gens are, someone will buy them cheap and unlock them, nothing is immune to that. The solution is don't leave your phone in situations to be stolen, I've never had an iPhone stolen in almost 6 years because I don't leave it sitting around.

I've already addressed this, finish reading, my phone was still covered under warranty, scare tactics.

"Surface aesthetics are only about 10% of the new IOS7," well my dear, it may only be 10% but that 10% is what you see every time you switch on, every time you read a text, read an email, every time you look at the **** phone which is now a phone for kids! The colours are hideous, the layout is flat, it has no definition when you look at it. It is one grey bland layout with flat overly bright and garish colours. Apple have just sealed their fate with this 10%

No one forced you to install this update. In fact you could have stayed at 6.1.3 or 6.1.4. You knew what the ios was going to look like before so quit complaining about something you could have avoided in the first place.

Which is what this thread is about, how to rectify it, it wasn't possible to know every in and out of the new iOS before hand, I don't follow Apple around the net and look for news. Realistically, Apple SHOULD make it very easy to downgrade at least to the last version if the customer wants to, it's poor form for a company to say here's your cake now eat it sucker. They do well because they have an almost religious following among some but not everyone feels that way.

And you obviously do not know the TOS of this forum. You cannot discuss how to downgrade ios and it cannot be done. Also if you buy a new phone then it will come with ios7 and you will not be able to go to 6.1.4 with those.

Actually, Apple has been losing the smartphone battle to the Androids for sometime now. This will definitely boost Android. I used a Galaxy and went to an iPhone. I missed the customization, Swype, quick links, etc. but settled for the iPhone since syncing is much easier.

But I never thought Apple would develop something akin to a Palm phone when they went color, and call that "progress." iOS7 is buck ugly. I mean, it's simply white screen after white screen.

You need to refrain from instructing peoples on such on this board. it is against the TOS of this board.

Peoples not "on the same page" (as per same IOS) would encounter countless problems with APPS which are incompatible on older IOS no longer supported. That is unacceptable from any logical examination.

Expansion with the new IOS7 'under the hood' , i.e. the engine of the new IOS7 is meant for the peoples to have a better fuller experience, expanded features, security and options not available on the older IOS......As such that is unacceptable from any logical examination therefore to speak of 'downgrade'.

    Peace

I saw a few websites that showed the home screen with it's awful icons. But whatever. What I didn't expect was for there to be absolutely no color in all the Apple apps, and when there is, it's black, a bit of blue, or dreary grey.

Did a guy redesign this? That's the only answer I have.

Nobody's complaining about these features. But to say, in 2013, that these features cannot be presented asthetically with the power that's present in the current phones is unbelievable.

If Samsung can, Apple can. No?

Wow,  What a plank! No, nobody forced me to install this update, l choose too. I now bitterly regret that because lm stuck with nothing better than a phone that looks like an android. I don't hang on Apples every move like some do, but l did trust them to not to turn it into this car crash. I'm sure the features are an improvement but if the interface displeases people then they will Walk away from Apple.

I have messed with iOS constantly since yesterday morning and I can't find any of these awesome improvements, they made it different but that's not the same as better. As they always say, movement is not the same as progress. Several apps are worse, the new Music for example is a frickin' disaster. Album art EVERYWHERE for no good reason.

    Submissions

    1. Stay on topic. Apple Support Communities is here to help people use Apple products and technologies more effectively. Unless otherwise noted, do not add Submissions about nontechnical topics, including:
      1. Speculations or rumors about unannounced products.
      2. Discussions of Apple policies or procedures or speculation on Apple decisions.

#2 plainly applies as it is an apple decision to not allow downgrades.
