I like iOS 7, and so do all of the people I know who have it. I have yet to meet anyone other than on this board who regrets the upgrade.

Well, actually there ARE people, other than those on this board who dislike IOS7. I asked my son yesterday if he had upgraded his iPhone and his response? "Yes, but I probably shouldn't have!! I hate the new Calendar and my battery life is now horrible! Big mistake on my part." He is an attorney and no longer uses a paper calendar.............keeps everything on his phone. He said inputting info into the new calendar is a real apin compared to the way the older calendar worked. I did suggest he do a reset of his phone and see if the battery issue resolves itself. So, you see, not everyone who is unhappy with IOS7 comes to this board!!

I'm just happy that I decided to sit on the upgrade for my iPad!! And, I am having serious thoughts about getting an iPhone now when my current contract is up.........think I'll just stick with another Android unless something seriously changes with IOS7.

Well, I haven't met your "attorney" son. So I stand by my statement.

Complete restore didn't work to improve the battery life.  I think we're just stuck with a very sad battery life.  After 100% charge, I've only used my phone twice today, once to send an email, the other to look at an email, and it's already down to 75%.  Very VERY BAD battery life.  And problem is, now there is nothing Apple can do or will do to make that better.

I googled things one could do to "shut off" a lot of the new features in order to improve the battery life; however, it seems pointless to have the new features if you have to shut them all off just so you can get a longer battery life.

Any suggestions on how to improve battery life? Apple have any longer lasting, high-powered, super-duper batteries that keep going and going and going and going  . . .  ?? LOL

No, I don't get your point.  I'm having a difficult time following the grammatical flow of your first sentence.

Feel free to do so.  That is your right.  Personally, I'll avoid a platform for which 79% of all mobile device malware is written to target, compared to 0.7%.  I'll trade a little 'convenience' for vastly improved security.

The giggle fits won't stop for those of us living on open platforms.

Overall, my iPad functions pretty much the same as before, but it is like being seen at the prom with your ugly cousin who couldn't get a date either. However the look is an opinion and Apple really can't do too much about someones opinion, at least until they invent iBrain and individuals who want to be unique will stand in line just like everyone else and agree to being partially lobotimized. Don't laugh, people willingly turn over there personal finacial information and use the App store and iTunes.

The security flaws and the inability to return to a more secure platform should be far more concerning....

Is that the best you can do. It is a known flaw now and will be fixed soon. Can you say that about android? It is so fragmented that even if they come out with a fix the handset makers usually don't provide an update. You should do a search on android flaws. There are tons of those that pop up on google.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, easy there Tex, the man asked a question, I gave an answer, there appear to be a few variations of the flaw.

And the bypass of the new fingerprint reader.

Ok we all know now that (at least for the moment) one can’t go back to 6.1.4 from 7.

But can one of the moderators here tell me WHY Apple prohibit downgrading?

I mean what is the justification for not allowing to downgrade something you own?

I want to understand this, maybe it’ll make perfect sense once someone explain this in layman’s term to me.
