This might be helpful for the next few days or weeks while you find your way around the new system: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf.can also be downloaded via iBooks.

Some navigation and functional changes are subtle or obvious. Others, not so much.

I received this message moments ago when I tried to log back in. All of a sudden I am "UNAUTHORISED" What ever did I say ? Forums have never been an ameniable place to me and stupidly I wonder at times why wars do start ...

But here we have one over who likes/dislikes the new operating system on telephone. Who can be more nastier to the previous comment that we did not agree with.

I have been laying awake thinking about Apples motives for such a radical change to their operating system.

I can only imagine what has been going on for months behind closed doors now that Apple had (in my eyes reached a stumbling block) Amazing products such as iPad -  but now ... the consumers are restless - What is Apple going to do?

Drag out the marketing psychologists - And they did - And the marketing pyschologists along with the graphic designers have proven that we all like our pretty pictures - we don't like change unless is is very gradual and WE are all going to go into mass hysteria over our pretty icons and the new IOS7 - We are all going to join forums - we are going to write blogs on the change - Apple will end up on TV and in all other media - It sure did the trick as Apple is the biggest thing on the web and television (good or bad). Well done Apple - I fell for it for awhile and ran around like a headless chook (chicken). Now at almost 3am I have decided that - My phone is a phone - It still makes and receives calls and that is really all I need a mobile phone to do. I am no longer playing your games.

If you're "unauthorised", how were you able to post your message?  I think you'll find that you were simply unauthorised because you were trying to access something that had already been deleted or hidden.  That's all.

All that message means is that the message you were linking to has been hidden by the mods. Messages are rarely deleted; they are hidden. An ID with sufficient privilege can still see them.

I'd just like to add my voice here to all those who also wish to uninstall iOS7 and go back to 6.1.3.

It is not just the ugly look that I dislike. I am also annoyed at the loss of functionality - why have they taken Wikipedia out of Spotlight? And why have they ruined the Photo app by removing that fantastic Places view? It was so easy to find a photo from that map - just zoom to the country where I took the photo and then I could find it in seconds. Now if I want to find a photo I have to try to remember what year I took it and then squint through hundreds of tiny thumbnails. Utterly stupid to remove a beautiful feature like the photo-map.

I really am praying that Apple will take heed of all the clamour for 6.1.3 and let people go back. The new look is simply ghastly, and unpleasant to use. How can anybody possibly think that the new Notes app is better than the old one?

I've got a similar issue. I already decided not to upgrade to ios7 when it came out, and tried to avoid the hoopla around it.

Now I see that my iphone 5 went ahead and automatically downloaded the update without my permission and is waiting for me to confirm it.

How do i delete it before it installs?

The Phone does not autmatically download anything unless you tell it to.

It may tell you there is an update available but there is no one forcing you to update or even initate the download.

If the Settings App has a (1)  on it it just means the upate is available but no download should have taken place.

Also it won't install unless you tell it to.

Personally I have no issues with iOS7. I like the new look.

Updates (iOS 6 and iOS 7) downloaded by itself after few days but installed only manually.

Man, I can't believe I will have to live with that. Apple should at least have an option to change the look back the old style like iOS6

Well, the button says "Install Now" not "Download Now"  either way, I want it gone.

So very true. It has Downloaded onto my iPad 2 I haven't updated yet for other reasons. And is ready to install.

So to correct my above post:

The Phone does not autmatically download anything unless you tell it to.

It does download on its own

It may tell you there is an update available but there is no one forcing you to update or even initate the download.

If the Settings App has a (1)  on it it just means the upate is available but no download should have taken place.

It won't install unless you physically tell it to.  That is go into the settings app and tap on Install Now.

Personally I have no issues with iOS7. I like the new look.

Unfortunately I don't believe there is any way to get rid of it, but it should not affect your Phone in any way.
