I agree - it is very very bad taste... I am a visual artist and for me this change is a big shock - no more elegance...

Yes there is a reason Apple doesnt support it... if they did, it would be a huge embarrasment at this point if a very large percentage of customers would re-vert to IOS 6, and they could no longer claim the amazing 75% + adoption rate of their latest OS. The issue is however it would be better to take that embarrassment now, provide the downgrade option, and Maintain those customers for the future, rather than losing them when it is time for them to make their next phone purchase. I think they are underestimating the extent of the user base they are in danger of alienating.

Do you think Apple even looks through the feedback reports...or gives a hoot for that matter?

Apple says that they do not monitor these forums for problems.

They do monitor messages sent to www.apple.com/feedback/

43 pages ... Is it always like that when a new OS comes out, or iOS 7 is special?

Oh my goodness, this is the best answer.  I'm not so good at this so could you maybe write stpe by step instructions we could follow?

No, he cannot, because that would violate the ToS of this forum.

They have NEVER supported downgrading.  iOS 7 is not unique in that respect.  This is a decision based on technological constraints, not on marketing ideas.

I am adding to the sentiments I have been reading on this post.  I have been using Apple products for years and currently have an iPhone, Macbook and iPD, as does my husband.  I literally have loved my iPad since I got it 3 years ago,  living with it by my side at all times and sometimes referring to it as my "other brain."  Right now I am close to tears because  I stupidly updated to iOS 7 on my iPad.  I can't even express how much I hate it!!!  The look of the new icons, the light weight fonts, all the white space, yuck! It literally hurts my eyes.  I have done graphic design, and I think this new look looks like it has been designed by a monkey.  I am still in shock at how bad it all looks given how well Apple has done everything in the past.   I am sure there are also many glitches, many of them already being described on this post.  One more to add to the list that seems to be growing daily:  I am not able to copy and paste between functions, which is something I use on a daily basis and loved.   I have been trying to put together a list copying information from various web pages and pasting it to notes - doesn't work. Also tried it with another app (IA Writer) - doesn't work.

Shame on you Apple!  Oh how I wish I could go back to my old iOS.

Could you kindly link to a discussion article on "how to uninstall IOS 6" that has even close to the length of this post?

That's unfortunate.  Go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/ and leave Apple feedback about iOS 7.

Simply not true.. As I have stated, I have personally downgraded many times, and so do the vast majority of beta testers ..multiple times, and on multiple devices. There are no significant technological constraints present. In fact the process of downgrading is much simpler than the in-place upgrading the IPhone currently supports .. as to downgrade you must wipe the phone and re-install fresh. An in place upgrade is quite a bit more complicated.

I am with you 100% percent.  There has to be a way to get Apple to let us go back especially since it has only been 7 days since the 5s release.  I too stupidly upgraded while upgrading i tunes.  Hit yes,  did not realize it was installing OS& -I just thought it was sncying my phone until it was said and done. There were so many problems with the new layout, colors are awful and that white glare, what were they thinking?. My problems are on my iphone.  I am going to go to the Genius Bar and see how they can help -worth a try.  If not, I am willing to spend $100-$150.00 to get a new 4s from my phone carrier.

I too say shame on you Apple -  I wonder what Steve Jobs would have to say about this fiasco...
