Sep 27, 2013 2:39 PM in response to viperman17by Hinoki, basically Apple has spoiled us
the first iPhone was a major change
to everything you knew before
every subsequent hard and soft upgrade
felt like a logical step
which became part
of my life and I loved it
criticizing iOS7 may look
like every one is nitpicking here
but this time the upgrade
doesn't feel so logical anymore
I tried altering everything i could
and finally a full black wallpaper
did the trick to accept the fiery icons
for the rest I went back to defaultwhich was acceptable
but the old iPhone feel was gone
every time I open messages
it is screaming at me
if only I could set the white background
to a different shade
then the same blue and green
will get a different feel
for example Ian Storm Taylergave a nuanced review on the icons
(search for "whats-wrong-with-the-ios-7-icons")
it's his view but he tried to put
his finger on what was missing
Apple is a closed environment
which I don't want to miss
I don't want to jailbreak
or get a whatever phone
what worries me most now
is that Apple always knew
what was good for me
or the esthetic target I belong to
but for the first time
with iOS7 they dropped us
how can you create an amazing 5s
and not see what is lacking in iOS7
I hope and I'm sure it will change
for the time being I want to use 6
and wait in silence for the next upgrade
if only I could downgrade...

Sep 27, 2013 2:57 PM in response to viperman17by nybe,iOS 7 was inducing headaches and intense motion sickness on my iPhone 5...
My solutiuon: I went to the AT&T store near me and traded in my iOS 7-infected iPhone 5 for a new iPhone 5 with (old) iOS 6.1.4 pre-installed on it. Came home and used my backup to restore the new phone and started using iOS 6 again...
the nausea went away IMMEDIATELY.

Sep 27, 2013 3:18 PM in response to Allan Eckertby irishelf67,For those self-righteous people who keep saying use the accessibility options and/or you shouldn't have updated it if you didn't like it, you ate missing the point. I am visually impaired and bought my devices after trying them out in stores to see if I could read the screen without too much difficulty. With the old OS, the vision accessibility options actually helped. The ones in ios 7 do not. Ios 7 makes devices useless to the visually impaired. To us (and there are a lot more of us using iPads and iPhones than you may think) ios 7 is a downgrade. And while we can delay updating to ios7 for now, eventually we will have to update as apps are updating for use on ios 7 and may not work in ios 6. So I spent a lot of money for a product based on its usability that will no longer be useable because some idiot decided to fix something that wasn't broken. And I have no right to complain!? Apple has always been known for its accessibility, especially for the visually impaired, and this ios makes the device nonaccessible. It is quite apparent that no visually impaired people were used for the beta test, otherwise these issues wouldn't exist. For the record, I already left feedback. But since the new regime came into being over at Apple, I don't think they even read the feedback. At this point, it would probably take a lawsuit to make them fix the problem. The least Apple should do is allow the user to choose between the new interface and the classic interface of ios 6 and/or allow the user to choose a font and contrast theme that works for them!

being rude?
I was just told to go see a doctor because iOS 7 is making me ill. It's not my fault Apple has created a vomit machine.

Sounds like you should go play in traffic.
uh getting sick from looking at an electronic device is NOT NORMAL!!!!
Hence, go see a doctor... Remember how there is a group of people who get seizures from looking at fast flashing lights?? That is not normal, it is a medical condition..
But seriously if you have nausa from looking at the phone that is a sign you should see a doctor.

And it's not Apple's fault that you have paroxysmal positional vertigo. Go see a doctor.

Whether you should see a doctor or not is up to you. But I have to agree with ngk22r that developing nausa from watching an iPhone sounds a bit over the top.
I can vouch for the fact that the first time I read that I almost feel out of my chair laughing figure it was a joke. Only to find later that some of those who were posting this claimed to be serious about it.

Sep 27, 2013 4:06 PM in response to PanzerMK7by wmah,My thoughts exactly on the music app. I don't need to see the album art at all. And the sifting to just find the album is a headache. I liked going through the list of artist and selecting an artist and then see only the albums under that artist and not having to scroll past every single track to get where the album I want. The only way I found to only play one album by getting there trough the artist menu is to start a teackand then hitting that thing in the upper right corner of the screen and starting it over again from there. Don't get me wrong I like that I can start the first album and let it play through the rest. Too much has been lost to gain a little. When in lock mode while playing music it now requires an extra step to see the larger clock and to get it you have to hit the home screen button. I used to be able to just hit the unlock tab on the top once to see it. And what is with the pink/red text in there also.
The whole overall look is a visual nightmare. The background screen does not resize at all to make it all fit unless you are one that takes all your pictures with the phone being held upright. So if you see a really cool car and snap a picture you have to take it with a lot of pavment below and trees above it. My current background is just a black screen.
The all white look is very hard to adjust to. Safari to me is a slight pain to use compared to what it used to be but I can live with that. The boxy selection boxes that come up really just look horrible (the ones when your phone rings or even just the keypad). The icons for apps all are spaced farther apart taking up more space on an already small screen to begin with. The double tapping to close apps also to me is another look that I just don't like. My biggest hate is just too much white everywhere. There still is no real user customization here at all. Real customization would include being able to change the colors.Video selection menu. Realy now, which was easier to read there? New or old.
I don't want much at all. I just want to upgrade back to ios6.1.3 which worked far better.

Sep 27, 2013 4:10 PM in response to wmahby Allan Eckert,Since downgrading iOS is not possible, I suggest you check changing the parameters in Accessability.
I know they made a big difference for me. I think this is one of the times that the default settings were total off the mark.

Yes. And when you select "Artists" you should get.... a list of artists, you think? Not a list of albums sorted by artist. And why waste all that space for artwork on the Artist list? There IS NO ARTIST ART. So IOS7 creates some bogus screen-eating substitute for artwork where there shouldn't be any, and then throws a bunch of blank space between them so you can only see four of them at a time.
Thanks, Apple. That was stupid.
