@NyBe, my apologies.  I meant to say this to ngk22r, he or she was being rude to you.

Yeah I'm rude.... Sorry that I am NOT lazy, that I don't blame others for me being incompetent (which I am not), can read directions, look up how to do something instead of acting like a spoiled brat with a tantrum because some people cannot take the intiative to just search, read, and move on...

But hey it only took me less than 10 seconds to find this:

WOW, that was soooooo hard to just act like a grown up and take self responsability and intiative to look up a solution..

Apple has a big PR prbolem brewing here.  Worse than maps.

This thread would be almost twice as long as it currently is if posts had not been deleted.  .

Jeez.  I've been an Apple supporter for more than two decades, way before it was cool.  I'm now quite disappointed with the company.

    Apple, bring IOS 6 back.

uhm, not really... There is always a group of people that do not like the new update from iOS, heard it everytime...

Why didn't everyone know what IOS 7 would look like?   Because only a small subset of the population actually cares to know what the next IOS is going to be like.

People trusted Apple to deliver a great experience - that trust is now broken.

If they don't care, why are they complaining?

    Meg:

It is clear from the amount of points you have that you spend a lot of your time thinking about Apple.   Most people just want a useful and elegant phone.   They don't think about it.  They don't want to.

But, they have every right to be angry and upset when someone takes away from them the excellent user experience they love.

Not like it was forced upon you, actually last I checked it went something like:

    Software Update

    iOS 7.0

    Apple Inc.

[ This area would contain a description of iOS 7 broken up into different paragraphs explaining what the update was about ]

For more information on the content of this update, please visit our website at: www.....

And you still didnt bother to read what its all about??? Well guess what, I have no sympathy for you then...

No, not really. But I do accept some personal responsiblity. I try not to jump blindly into things then throw a hissy when it's not what I wanted. When I have done that, I kick myself and say lesson learned.

Sadly, it is being FORCED on us.  It's being force-downloaded onto peoples devices without their authorization or permission, or even their knowledge until it's too late.

Yes, you do have to MANUALLY choose to install it, but if you don't, it sits there, gobbling up 2-3GB of your hard drive space and Apple claims that the update cannot be deleted and that space is unretrieveable.  Kind of like a punishment for not jumping on the iOS7 blandwagon.

And any iOS7 user who says they don't believe it becuse it didn't happen to them manually downloaded it themselves and avoided the rape of their device.

WRONG, will not update unless user authorizes it. It will only gobble up space if you actually download it.. I still have one phone that hasnt been updated yet and wow, there is absolutely nothing on it...

Also just looked at the phone again and on the bottom of the update screen it says:

    Download and Install

still looking for this "forced" update you speak of..

Dude?  can you freakin read?  I said quite clearly "you do have to MANUALLY choose to install it..."  My devices only give me the option to "Install" and since I never asked it to download, that kinda sounds "forced" to me.

And I guess you're "looking" hard for it.  But good for you that you have an uninfected phone.  Wanna trade?

Sorry, but I felt motivated to add to this. As you can see, this is my first post ever on these boards. My brother pulled the wife and I into the Apple smartphone fold a little over two years ago. Safe to say I was very happy. The wife was very happy. We have loved our iPhones. Until now.

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of nice features that have been added. I appreciate a lot of the new functions. Problem is everything that has to do with aesthetics. I can not begin to describe just how much the wife and I hate them. In fact, everyone we know who uses Apple in our hometown is complaining about how fugly and useless all the new visual features are. Colors are horendous and a major eye strain. The fanboys can jump on me all they want about how I could have refrained from upgrading, but how long would that have lasted with the way you are eventually herded into everyone using the same system? I'll say it again. I love and fully agree with a lot of the new functions, but would it have killed them to at least have some kind of choice about the colors, look, etc. of the operating system itself? It may sound whiney to complain about it, but I look at this **** thing everyday. I can't even stand that stupid frosted glass effect on the icon dock.

I could go on, but I really wanted to say this. Had I not recently just upgraded a few months ago, and this had hit, I know without a doubt I would have plopped the money down on the other side of the fence. I hate the look of IOS 7 THAT much! The hard to look at portion of it anyhow. The wife has heldout for her upgrade, and now she is going to do just that. Can't really say I blame her, and will probably be joining her. She is like me, and is holding out hope they will fix this fugly looking interface, or at the very least give options to those of us who are not fond of anime/Hello Kitty graphics.

I did read hence why I said the one iPhone I have not updated yet says download and install for iOS 7.0

But if you dont want updates to occur, load the phone up with as much stuff as you can so there is no room to put more things on it.

The iPhone I am speaking of is a 4S that is on iOS 6.1.3 and only has the basic apps, no music, videos, or pictures on it, 16GB model.

At this point that is all you can do is to wait. Is everything perfect on iOS7? No and neither was iOS6 and so on. Will Apple change it? Who knows, maybe - maybe not. Something that is common amongst people is they do not like major changes, but eventually some people end up liking it later on and others will continue to not like the update. I have seen people ditch thier iPhone to get an Android, people with Androids go to iPhones. A small portion of each group go back to the starting point.
