How do you restore from a back up? It's taken me 10 minutes to write this as I keep catching the bottom of my screen and bringing up the music control or whatever it is please please help

You can turn off the Control Centre in Settings/Control Centre so that it doesn't come up when you're using an app or writing.

(The down side is you'll have to come out of the app you're using to access it, unlike with iOS 6 when you could access light/sound controls AND stay in the app.)

I love how all these articles about how to conserve battery life talk about shutting most stuff off on the phone. What good is the phone if everything is turned off!

But the battery lasts so much longer that way.

The iPhone has a lot of different functions but everyone does not use the same ones on every iPhone. Best to turn off all and only turn on what you will use.

Apple. Please listen to us and restore the beautiful visual features of 6 while keeping the internal enhancements of 7.

Already done - although I may have to send more.  Just went to music, looked at a video - played ok in the upright mode, but when I went to landscape to see better, all I got was a collage of album artwork.  ***?  I'm stuck watching it on the tiny screen instead of the way it was really meant to be watched?  I couldn't even find an option in the settings, and at least it worked when I went to my contacts and rotated.  Again, *** Apple?  You actually paid people to design this?

Badger3k that has always been the case in the Music app. Go to the Videos app if you want to see them fullscreen landscape.

It lasts longer if you just turn your phone off completely.  That seems to be the intent of Apple (actually, I think they are trying to market the phone to kids and think the adults will just suck it up and ignore the changes, but that's just a guess based on the childish look of the OS).

Thanks for that - I really never used it before.  Why bother having it in the music app if it shows up better in videos?  Actually, now that I think about it, I'm not sure that it ever worked in music for me.  I remember trying to play some video playlists, and all I ever got was music and no video, but then the video app had no playlists.  That's why I gave up on the videos - ****, forgot all about that.  I wonder when that was fixed.

eta - actually, I wonder if it was my iPad I am thinking of.  I really have had no reason to use the music function on my phone with both an iPad and iPod, so this may have been the first time I actually looked at it on the phone.  Pretty much the same with videos - why put them on the tiny screen when I had a bigger screen available.
