I hope. Maps became a non-issue because they fixed it.

It's still the same app, still using Apple's, not Google's geobase. That geobase has expanded, but it's not Google yet. There are still people who hate it with the kind of passion some people have to for iOS 7. But, they learned to deal with it one way or another.

This sort of uproar happens everytime there is a major software release. . People have real likes and dislikes, needs and wants. Apple will never be able to please everyone, especially people who don't like change. That's not a judgement, just a statement of fact. I'm still mad that graham crackers don't come wrapped in wax paper anymore, so I'd hardly be one to judge on that score.

People will say I'm belittling their opinions. Far from it. I'm just taking a pragmatic, long view.

Yes, Apple's data that was flawed and Apple fixed it. Still are fixing it. I personally have no problem with Maps; in fact it's all I use. I'm just saying that the problem went away because Apple fixed it, not because it just faded with time. They can fix IOS7, too.

I want IOS7. But I want it to be legible and intuitive, just like so many people wanted their maps to be accurate.

I'm feeling so depressed by iOS 7 right now... And Apple wouldn't be Apple if they gave you the oppurtunity to go back to how it was.

Dear Jonathan Ive, how do i get this ******** Windows theme called iOS 7 off my iPhone?

And just like the issue with Maps when iOS 6 was released, this will be a non-issue in a month or two.

I agree, Maps was a non-issue, and was way overblown. I think maps are great, although not quite at the level of Google maps especially when getting turn by turn directions, local transit results etc. However, who could expect that? They spend a year or two on a maps app and people expect it to compare with a 10 or 11 year old project Google has been working on? For a first gen product it was amazing, and in 3D view some of those flyby's are just spectacular, and load amazingly fast on both my IPHone 5 and Ipad.

The changes in core UI design and poor coding in IOS 7 however ... not so much. I dont see that blowing over, in fact, I think you will see a drop in sales for upcoming quarters after this new release has settled in. And that will be the only thing that Apple listens to... So time will tell I supose

I think it quiet about Apple Maps the time users could use Google Maps as an App again. Which seems not as easy for iOS 7....but i agree with you. Time will tell.

The maps uproar went away for a number of reasons:

       1) First, people figured out how to use the web based version of Google maps

       2) Apple maps got better

       3) Google issued their own app, (which sits comfortably next to Apple maps on my phone, because even today I find errors in Apple's data.)

If people could download a 3rd party skin to cover up the two-dimensional dayglow of IOS7, this might go away too.  I'm assuming Apple will fix the security flaws, screen jutter, and battery drain problems.
