ipad keeps resetting after ios7 update?

After performing a successful update to IOS7 this morning my iPad mini keeps re-booting itself (screen goes blank, Apple logo comes up).

I cannot use the iPad anymore, have tried powering it off/on again but its keeps doing the same thing - anyone have any clues what i should do next?

Hello Apple & Everyone,

After replacing my iPad (4th Gen/Wi-fi/3G) because it suddenly doesn't want to charge, soon after I got it, I upgraded to iOS7. I was able to use it for about two weeks or so, when I got home one time, it just keeps on searching network... endlessly! Then I noticed that it just keeps on resetting maybe after about 3-5 minutes, maybe less. Since I just got the replacement, I brought it back to Apple service Center here in Manila, about a week after I got a call that they were able to fix it by resetting and restoring… that is what they told me insisting that that they have to update it to 7.0.2 which i said I already did. anyway, they say that that was just the problem so I got my iPad (after paying about $20 for their supposed reset). Now about two weeks or so after getting my iPad... THE RESETTING IS BACK AGAIN! Same symptoms... searching for network... then resetting.... What is wrong. I have the 1st Gen and the 2nd gen iPad and I really don't encounter such problem.

Now I am trying to reset and restore it but I can't seem to do it... I always have the error message telling me that I cannot turn off my iCloud.

Does this have something to do with the updates… since I just noticed that there is a 7.0.3 update again…

Please help... After syncing and re-syncing files and other stuff... I probably will just use my old realiable non 3G second Gen. iPad. This is getting to be frustrating… 😟

i too have the same problem .. after upgrading to iOS7, my ipad also seems to sort of "hang up" on certain applications ...

i see there's a "pause" when i'm typing an email or when i'm taking notes on the notes plus apps.

and while searching for apps in the apps store, some how it just hang and reboot itself.

can anyone help on this?

i think there is some issue with the upgrades ... and apple needs to fix this.

it is not fair for us to keep rebooting our ipad ... loss of productivity time too,

In my case this turned out to be a problem with the iPad running out of memory. There's a log in the settings, and there you could see lots of errors about apps running out of memory. My guess is that with the new multi-tasking features in ios7, it's using more memory, and perhaps there are issues with handling it gracefully. Manually closing apps and keeping less Safari tabs open worked around the problem.

My iPad was replaced by Apple so there's practically nothing on it yet... I solved the issue by resetting the whole thing till there's nothing left on my iPad. Update to the newest version... Hopefully this continues.... Keeping my fingers crossed though. I noticed that his only happens to me at least when there is an update.... First when I updated to version 7 of the iOS... Then it happened again on version 7.0.2... Then the 7.0.3. Now I'm afraid the every time there's an update, this iPad will have the same issue... It's frustrating!!! The bummer of it all is that since I have to reset this iPad every time... My APN setting resets also which is a pain because I have to trick my iPad always so I can use my 3G. Geez!

I came to this forum as recently encountering the same problem of Ipad 2 rebooting itself. Its probably due to some poorly written app that that some how screw up the system, after some trial and error, the following steps work for me...

1. -> Settings

2. -> General

3. -> Reset

4. -> Reset All Settings

All data and conent will not be erased. The process takes a few minutes of the Ipad to reset and reboot itself.

After that my IPad runs smoothly again.

Resetting the Ipad is easy and this step should be done, before doing any recovery or bringing it in to Apple.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

I have had the exact same issue with my iPad since the iOS7 update in terms of the iPad keeps restarting and freezing. I have contacted Apple who have informed me that it is a hardware issue and because I am out of warranty ot will cost me over £200.

My concern here is that since the iOS7 update the problem has occured. I hope that Apple will look at the issue and repair for free...I can only hope!

Having the same issues. I decided to upgrade my mother in laws iPad 3 to ios 7. Got an error message and wasn't able to complete update. I tried to reset. And then it kept resetting. Every 3 minutes. Tried to restart it as a new iPad. Didn't work. Took it to the apple store. They said it was a hardware problem. Couldn't figure how it would be a hardware problem when it was working perfectly until I tried to upgrade to ios 7. Now I'm seeing people having the same issues. Is it really a hardware problem?

Yikes! Even worse than MY somewhat similar problem (reported in more detail in a different thread on this forum).

On mine, once the iPad was up & running, at least it stayed up & running. But it was not possible ever to power it down... it rebooted itself every time after any attempt to shut it down. ("Sleeping" worked okay, but no possibility of shutting down completely.)

Apple store geniuses said it was a hardware problem and that nothing could be done about it because the iPad was beyond its one-year warranty.

Your problem sounds even worse.

Have you taken it to see a "genius" at Apple Store yet?

I am having the same issue. My 3rd gen IPad is restarting about every 3 minutes. Was on the phone with apple support all of last night trying to do a full restore. My Ipad is now fully wiped out and the operating system has been reloaded. The issue is still occurring.

Apple support is telling me its hardware related and i will need to get a new Ipad for $300. Total BS. The device is less than 2 yrs old. What a peice of junk.

Looking into Android tablets.
