There should be a lightning bolt to the right of battery figure in the top right of the screen when charger is connected.

Nope.. Try it..
works on mine
I did last night while doing the upgrade, hence my reply with the details. I do not think that the lightning bolt disappears now as it did previously when charged up however.
Just out of interest are you using a charger or connecting to a USB port? If USB it may not be powerful enough to charge.
Also if the phone is charging as it should when you wake it up the current charge is displayed briefly for a few seconds directly underneath the time before being replaced by the full date.

Steve
Yes, there is a lightning bolt to the very right of the battery indicator.
Yes there is a lightning bolt ..but too bad it doesnt show when the phone is fully charged
The battery charge indicator also turns green.
And, if you have battery percentage turned on, you can figure it out (100%=fully charged).
Another handy tip which I noticed while I was charging last night is if the phone is asleep, press the home button and the amount of charge will be displayed directly underneath the time for a few seconds before being replaced by the date.

Yes! I saw that. One of the the nice little touches.
How do you know if the battery is fully charged? Will the lightning bolt disappear or its fully charged enough if it's 100% already?

If it says 100%, you know your phone is fully charged. The lightning bolt only disappears if you unplug it.
I see. I just got confused because in ios 6 there's a plug on the battery if it's fully charged but in ios 7 there's no sign of fully charged aside from the percentage. Thanks anyway!
Yup, it's different now.
