Apple Mobile Device failed to download

I recently bought a new laptop that operates on Windows 8. I downloaded the 64-bit version of iTunes, connected my iPod and everything worked fine. Last night, when I tried to connect my iPhone 4 I got an error message asking me to uninstall iTunes and download the 64-bit version again. I looked through forums and support sites, and I have figured out that my problem is that the Apple Mobile Device has failed to download. I have tried EVERYTHING. Extracted the AMDS and downloaded it separately, re-installed the itunes a million times, rebooted with Clean Boot. I'm at a loss as to what I should do now, since I can't sync my iPhone anymore.

Any suggestions?
