In iOS 7 why cant i shuffle all in genre

The only workaround for now is by using Siri. Tell her to shuffle alternative or whatever genre you want and it seems to work.

thanks seavercm, that works when in wireless range, but this will not work for iPods when they are not within wireless range (Siri only works with wireless). please fix this, Apple!

Someone else posted this workaround which seems to do the trick. Go into all artists and the search box at the top. Begin typing the name of the genre and then select it. It should bring up all tracks and then you can shuffle from there. Still can't believe they removed this feature. Hopefully it comes back.

And don't even get me started on the wallpaper resizing/zoom issues....

+1 can't believe Apple would get rid of the option to shuffle a genre. It makes no sense. Apple please reinstate the option to shuffle a genre ASAP.

Apple please fix this. Its not an unreasonable idea to play music based on mood or style. This worked in previous version of IOS.

Being able to shuffle in "genre" is an essential feature; everything else is too much random...

Can't get this to work. It does not bring up all songs from the desired genre. Apple *****! Bring back the shuffle feature! NOW!!!!! The only reason I bought a stupid iPhone is because all my music is in iTunes and I liked the look of the iOS. The new iOS looks like garbage and the music app is less functional than ever. AND the fact that I now have to download the horribly designed and functioning Podcasts app to listen to my podcasts instead of doing it from Music like in previous versions of iOS is HUGELY frustrating and enough to want to make me switch to an Android. Apple *****! We care about functionality, not aesthetics. Bring back functionality!

+1. THis is complete horse ****. isnt apple supposed be intuitive? also, they dont allow you to add by playlist or genre when creating new playlist.

+1, I am not being able to shuffle in genre list. Apple is dropping the ball!

Until apple fixes this I found a free app called genre player. Has a guitar on it that works fine till apple fixes this.

There is no reason why I can only playback within genre 1 song at a time... Why in the world would they remove this from the phone... Not cool Apple, not cool at all.
