Why can't I access the playlist button when adding songs to a playlist?

Under iOS 6, when editing a playlist (adding music to it), I had access to the playlist button in order to add all the music from one playlist to another. Under iOS 7, one can only access the song, artist, album, and composer buttons from the Edit/+ screen. So if I want to add 5 songs that I know are together on another playlist, I have to find them again in an alphabetical list? Yikes, a severe downgrade in functionality under ios7. Will this ability return or am I just missing something obvious that should let me do it?

Nique745 - if all you are looking to do is edit an existing playlist, go to the playlist, select it; you will see the list of tracks; near the top left side of the screen you will see "edit"--click there and you will be able to add songs. This thread is concerned with the fact that ios7 has lost the ability to choose songs from existing playlists when editing or creating new playlists. --that's the part that only Apple can fix.

iOS 7.1 and still no "playlists" button when editing/adding songs. I can't believe they're ignoring this like it wasn't a bug.

So I can't use my iPhone as an iPod anymore, which I had been doing for 6 years, so I have to carry around an old iPod that still has the functionality I need - in iOS 6 - but still has other bugs that will never be fixed (try reordering a songs in the the active playlist 10 seconds before the end of a song).

Everyone be sure to drop Apple another note, specifically about iOS 7.1, telling them that you want your Playlist button back! Here, just copy & paste this if you want:

Since iOS 7, and including iOS 7.1, I can no longer select songs from existing playlists when editing a playlist.

Steps to reproduce:

Open the Music app.

Navigate to an existing playlist.

Tap "Edit"

Tap "+"

The bottom row should have a "Playlists" button on it, but it does not, making it impossible to select songs from existing playlists to add to a playlist.

In previous versions if iOS, there was a Playlists button instead of the Composers button.

This is essential functionality for my iPhone or iPod Touch. Please fix it.

Agreed! This was the only fix I wanted in 7.1 and nothing... In fact, it seems as though they did add another option: "genres" --was it there in 7.0? Can't tell, can't go back. Whatever the case, it would seem relatively simple to bring back "playlists" as a source for adding songs when editing playlists--and just have scroll capability at the bottom, similar to the camera functionality.

No fix as of yet, no sign of a fix and no response. Its a joke really because c'mon, who the **** wants to troll through any of the alternative sections to add songs to a playlist when you can just go to recently added an grab all of your new stuff.

Its a complete necessity and I just cannot get how they would think this is an enhancement. Its actually making me think of buying an alternative handset.

Hello!

*Replace with ten swearing words*. Apple, I'm disappointed. iOS 7.1.1 is EXTREMELY UNSTABLE in all aspects.

I vote in the air to ADD THE BUTTON for adding a song from a playlist back, one year and you don't seem to care... thousands support agents but a fish rots from the head down. Polite support and good design are not going to fix anything. You don't really test what you do for the real users, instead hiding behind geometrical proportions of your icons you could add more quality to the code and apply it to real life user-experience. I personally pity poor skills of that one developer/manager who made the desicion to remove the button.

With poor regards,

Max
