iPhone 5 camera not working after ios 7 update

I am having the same exact problem on iPhone 5 after upgrade. After switching to the rear camera, the Camera app freezes. After closing the app and a soft reset it will unfreeze the app, but the problem occurs again. Facetime will work with the front camera, but not the rear. Tried three hard resets, setting up as new phone, with no luck.

I am also having the similar problem.Front camera is working fine but rear camera doesn't work at all.Tried restoring the phone several times but with no luck.

Same here, did IOS7 update on my iphone5 and then 2 photos later back camera shows just black.

I'm having same problem - camera is completely knackered! Any updates yet?

I am having the same issue. Going in to have them look at it today. Will update with any news or progress on how to fix the issue.

I was at the genius bar today and it is a hardware issue. (not sure if its connected to the new ios or not) But they replaced the whole phone on the spot.

I held down icons to wobble stage. Apparently it gives the phone a nudge. Solved issue instantly.

Unfortunately, I am having this issue as well.

I don't believe it's software related; this just happened while I was running iOS 6.1.3. Updated my iPhone 5 to 7.0 and it's still happening. On my second restore (DFU, setup as new), so let's see what happens. I think I'm going to have to trek 2 hours and get my phone replaced.

UPDATE: 2 restores later, and many resets later, no dice. However, the app performs worse on iOS 7 than it did 6. Strange.

Called the help line last night and they said it was a hardware issue and set up an appointment with the Apple store. Went to the store today and they replaced my phone. Took about ten minutes. Couldn't be happier with Apple right now.

Having the same exact problem. Only the front facing camera works, when it wants to. Rear camera, forget it, black screen and from time to time it'll go blurry. Did master reset a couple of times and nothing. Scheduled an appointment at the Genius Bar, from what I've read in this thread, hopefully they'll give me a new iPhone and that'll be that.

I have exactly the same problem. Shut down did not help. I contaed apple and did a delete all content and settings. Then surprisingly it worked. But after restoring all apps and media it does not work anymore.mseems to be a software issue. I will reset again and report on success....
