Sep 26, 2013 5:26 PM in response to xtremecarbonby xtremecarbon,7.0.2 is out, so I'm doing another fresh restore to see if I can still spare myself the drive to NC. I'm very doubtful, but at least I'll save time at the Genius Bar by not having to hear the "update to the latest OS" speech.
I've also found a surefire way to trigger the failure, should Camera actually decide to work (this happens ~40% of the time for me)
EDIT: No dice. You can disregard this post entirely.

Sep 27, 2013 7:26 AM in response to smevansby Kidsupremeusa,I'm having the same problem and scheduled a appt with genius bar. Question though? Since the iphone 5 has been discontinued, were you given 5s as a replacement ?

Sep 27, 2013 7:32 AM in response to Kidsupremeusaby Trickmiester,No they will replace your iphone 5. They have plenty of stock left over.

Sep 27, 2013 10:58 AM in response to Kidsupremeusaby xtremecarbon,You'll get an iPhone 5, but you can still buy an iPhone 5s. So technically, you can walk out with 2 brand "new" phones (after paying for 5s)

Sep 27, 2013 9:49 PM in response to smevansby jmetzls11,I had an appointment with the Genius Bar who said it was a hardware problem like everyone else except they would give me one for free. They wanted me to pay $270. Which is ******** because it isn't my fault. If my screen cracked I get it. My fault. Couldn't be more ****** at Apple.

Sep 27, 2013 10:03 PM in response to jmetzls11by Trickmiester,With my history with apple. That charge is a replacement fee for the phone, they normally don't charge you that unless you are out of warranty or there is other damage to the phone(water, battery issues, physical damage)
Did they show you the full diagnostics? And were you out of warranty?
Then again 270 for a brand new phone is better then dropping 800 for a new one. Just my opinion.

Sep 28, 2013 12:10 PM in response to Trickmiesterby jmetzls11,Yes I am out of warranty but it's not right that I have to pay $270 for upgrading to iOS 7. I didn't break the camera. It's an Apple device. They should take responsibility.

Sep 28, 2013 4:34 PM in response to smevansby Pineapple26,I have the exactly same problem.. too bad Apple, you are already loosing the market share to Android and you make problems in the existing products instead of improving your products. I so regret that I upgraded the software. I am gonna take my phone to Apple store tomorrow, and if they cant do anything, I am gonna sell this and changing to Samsung. Sorry you have to keep up apple.

Sep 30, 2013 7:27 PM in response to smevansby adPich,I have the same problem, my cam is not working after IOS7 updated, i want my cam back! any news about it?
-
Sep 30, 2013 7:33 PM in response to adPichby Trickmiester,This is a hardware issue. Only way to fix it is to replace the phone. Make an appointment with apple at there Genius Bar.
If you are still under warranty you will get a free phone. If not I believe its 270 for a replacement phone. Don't quote me on this but I believe they can give you the 270 credit towards a 5c or 5s if you want but don't quote me on that.

Sep 30, 2013 7:36 PM in response to Pineapple26by Trickmiester,If you are having problem with other apps it rarely an apple issue. Try deleting the app and reinstalling and most times it's due to the app not upgrading to be compatible with ios7.
