Q: iPhone 5 camera not working after ios 7 update

The front camera works initially, but the rear camera shows a blurry image which then freezes the app.  Several hard resets have had no effect.

Also to add, i am still not able to login to report the bug. I send an errror email but still no action or reply from them. I guess they only work for US customers or the developed countries.

Where do I find the auto-brightness button/how do I turn it off?

The same way the bug went away and got camera back working normally for a couple of days, now it is dead again. This is really annoying.

The lack of support or even a simple "mea culpa" from Apple is even worse. I really miss SJ's times.

Yep, mine was working after the auto-brightness trick but now it's dead again.

I have the same problem which disables FaceTime, removing app from the working memory resets the camera which locks as soon as the switch front to back lens is pressed

So what have I done so far to resolve this issue:

    1) Reset phone by holding home and power button for several seconds. (Still broken)

    2) Reset settings on phone in Settings\General\Reset (Still broken)

    3) Reset settings and content on phone in Settings\General\Reset (Still broken)

    4) Did a full restore in itunes using backup and restore (Still broken)

    5) Did a full restore to a downloaded firmware using SHIFT-CLICK to access interface (Still broken)

    6) Took phone to one phone shop who sugested it seemed like a software glitch and suggested a full DFU restore.(Still broken)

    7) Did DFU Restore using image 7.0.4 (Still broken)

    8) Upgrade phone to 5S, took 4S into a different shop in Hastings... They installed a new camera for £25 and everything is now working so phone handed down to wife:D and we all lived happily ever after... Phew...

Talking to the chap in the shop, who seemed very knowledgable, he suggested that they have seen a few phones like this and whilst it is a hardware fix it seems likely that it is a software conflict with an old batch of cameras.

Personally I am one happy customer at the moment... If you are in Hastings or nearby try Mad4Mobiles opposite the cinema 01424 718724.

I had a problem with my Itunes and Siri - replaced that phone and then the camera wouldn't work.

Sent me a new phone and all is working.  Great customer service!

I am having the same problem since last 10 days. Formatted my phone like 3 times already. Went to the apple store and they restored my boot rom or something they said, but still the same. Now, they say have to get the phone replaced and it is out of warranty....

Have a iphone 4s and facing the same bug . I believe it is a global software issue but still not affecting everyone.

I also think there might be some sort of conflict between the camera app and another third party application.

Hopefully , we should all wish for a quick ios update because endless resets and all rebooting operations are useless ..

So i read many forums and i found something new guys . As you can see there is a resistor near the front camera connector if it's not there the front camera is not working anymore . From where can i buy/get a resistor like this?
