Oct 1, 2013 12:17 PM in response to smevansby andre451,I've the same problem, but I don't think it's a hardware issue, I think it's from the iOS7 because on iOS6 it was working fine, so it's very likely to be a software issue and to be fixed with an upcoming update.

Oct 1, 2013 1:46 PM in response to smevansby RedFox94,I think I'm the winner here. I got my device replaced 3 times and today I came home from the store and I still have the camera app freezing at a blur picture while making video.
My 3rd replacement. It's not a hardware issue.

Oct 1, 2013 1:51 PM in response to RedFox94by jmetzls11,I feel so bad for you. And I completely agree with you. Apple really isn't making me happy right now either. It's apple's fault not mine yet I am supposed to pay $270. Stupid

Oct 1, 2013 2:11 PM in response to smevansby RedFox94,I'm sorry to ask this but can does your camera goes blur while recording a video and then freezes and you can't get our of the app?
I'm thinking a third party app is corrupt and causing this.
I've talked to apples senior agents and they have told me to check the apps.

Oct 1, 2013 2:27 PM in response to smevansby tomconte,+1 here. iPhone 4s, was working fine on iOS 6, after update to iOS 7 the back camera doesn't work anymore. The photo app just shows a black screen or freezes. The front camera works fine.

Oct 2, 2013 12:27 AM in response to smevansby rpeter,Exact same with my iPhone 5. Ever since installing ios7 10 days ago, main camera shows a black screen, toggling to front camera works once, with a good image from front camera, but toggling again to main camera appears to freeze the camera app. Force quit Camera app does not help. Reset parameters does not help. The bug is also present just after the iphone 5 turns on following a full reset of parameters and data. Looks like some low level software problem to me. On my way to the genius bar for a replacement.

Oct 2, 2013 5:26 AM in response to smevansby HadyS,I have the same problem and have resoved it as follows:
1- Close the Camera Application: double click "Home Button' to open the multi-task menu, swipe up on the camera window.
2- Reboot your iphone by holding the power button and the Home button until the phone turns off and the apple logo appears.
3- Reopen the Camera app and it should work.
Tested and worked 100%

Oct 2, 2013 5:31 AM in response to HadySby RedFox94,And it never happened again? I don't think it's a software problem I got mine replacd three times and I had the same issue. It's a third party app causing this.

Oct 2, 2013 5:35 AM in response to HadySby smevans,Some people have success with reboots but it does not work in every case. I checked the operation of the 5s in the Apple store and noted that when transitioning from the FaceTime camera to the rear camera the FaceTime image fist becomes blurred and then is replaced by the rear camera image. On my iphone 5 the camera app froze at the blurred transition stage. Whilst Apple maintain it is a hardware issue it seems to me more likely to be a software problem appearing at the transition between cameras.

Oct 2, 2013 5:42 AM in response to smevansby HadyS,You need to clause the Camera App as discribed in 1 to work otherwise it will not.

Oct 2, 2013 5:54 AM in response to HadySby RedFox94,@hadyS in my case it happens because of an app called "Mo+."
I contacted apple headquarters since it was my fourth replacement and the issue remained. They told now we'll check your apps one by one. So install my apps back one by one and use the camera for a while and the Pp that causes my camera to freeze will be the one. And I just found that this May be the app. Coz since a day the camera was working fine but a minute ago I installed mo+ and my camera froze.
In my care hated resets, reboots and restores didn't work.

Oct 2, 2013 6:16 AM in response to smevansby nadine505,I believe it is a software error due to iOS 7 upgrade and some kind of incompatibility with another app. I updated all my apps and all of a sudden, my camera was working again. This PROVES that it was not a hardware error. It's also not just the iOS 7 itself because multiple master resets and reboots of phone alone dud not help.
