Oct 11, 2013 12:14 AM in response to smevansby lovehateiphone,You are lucky to have your camera back. I tried everything ever mentioned online and the result is - no camera icon on iphone. It is only at the lock screen. I always have been apple phone - ipod, ipad, macbook, but this iphone peoblem is making me crazy. Wanna throw it away in an apple store smashing their 'windows'

Oct 11, 2013 12:22 AM in response to lovehateiphoneby Lexiepex,iOS7.0.2
Once again go looking for it:
1. it should be in the ControlCenter
2. it may be in an app-folder
3. it may be set off in settings/general/restrictions.
Other possibilities to try:
a. hold the Power and Home button at the same time etc...
b. settings/general/ reset/reset all settings

Oct 13, 2013 1:38 AM in response to smevansby Daisyjem,I spoke too soon, it worked that night but the next day it was back exactly as it was either a black screen or a blurred picture, gutted, check the setting and they were all still the same as the changes that I thought had 'fixed' it :(
come on apple please sort this!

Oct 13, 2013 5:24 AM in response to Daisyjemby bummy1,Same thing with me. I got it working the other day and posted about it. 2 hours later it was gone again. I have since did a complete erase. I decided to see if the camera would work before I restored from backup and on this "virgin" phone (new 5s) the camera did not work. App starts to open and immediately closes. I don't even get a chance to flip to front camera. I since have restored from backup so I can use all other aspects of the phone. Is it iOS7, the 5s, a combination? Frustrating. This is my first real problem with any iPhone I have had...yes Apple, please address this!

Oct 13, 2013 6:54 AM in response to smevansby Tooterbean,Same issue here no luck with Apple support they act like it's not a known issue. Did a restore no luck. If anyone finds a real answer to this problem please post as this is very irritating!

Oct 13, 2013 8:34 AM in response to Tooterbeanby Someguyoutthere,Here is what fixed my camera - I recalibrated the Auto-brightness feature.
Go to Settings:Wallpaper & Brightness: Turn OFF auto-brightness.
Go to a dark room, turn on Auto-brightness and slide the Brightness bar to the minimum amount needed to still read the screen.
Repeat the process in a bright room.

Oct 13, 2013 10:31 AM in response to smevansby FordRaptorFiend,This new OS has been out for too long for there not to be a fix. I don't pay for a product like this to not be able to have it fully working. Even though it is out of warranty it has been in an Otterbox Armor case since day one and looks like a brand new phone when you take it out. I have never had an issue until the phone updated to iOS 7. I am slowly slipping away from Apple and they don't seem to do anything about it.

Oct 14, 2013 6:30 AM in response to smevansby Zona77,Hi,
i'm facing the same problem with my 1 month old iPhone5: front camera works the back camera freezes on a blurred image.
Can not be solved with resetting, rebooting etc.
It is definitely a ios7 software bug.
I will switch to Samsung

Oct 14, 2013 1:52 PM in response to smevansby emptyjay,I have exactly the same issue since the ios7.2 update.
Orange admitted they were aware of the problem, but said i had to wait for Apple to issue a software update. So that was a week ago. How long is it going to take to fix this?
2 weeks
1 month
2 months?
For now i have a phone with no camera which is pathetic.

Oct 15, 2013 9:54 AM in response to smevansby rmagder,I'm also having the exact same problem. Right after I installed ios7

Oct 15, 2013 1:26 PM in response to smevansby le_doosh,I'm also having the same problem as everyone else. I just got a replacement iPhone 5 because my lock button died so I was given a replacement iPhone with the "broken" camera. My oringnial phone was updated to 7.0.2 and the camera worked fine. I really don't want to have to drive back to the Apple store for hardware failures but I looks like I am going to have to do that. Twice within the last week.
Also I tried everything everyone has posted in here. The auto-brightness, the restrictions, etc. No avail

Oct 15, 2013 4:54 PM in response to smevansby Mercedes 560SEL,Hello, I am having the issue with the ios 7 update and I was thinking, I am still in warranty but if I was to get another iphone 5, it would be inevitable that I would have to update back to ios7. So if they give me the option to pay the $270 or whatever to upgrade the to the Iphone 5S would I maybe not have the problem since it is made for ios 7? I just don't want to have this problem in the future, i've found when I did the upgrade the Camera, Home button, and Voice options do not work on my 5

Oct 16, 2013 7:51 AM in response to Mercedes 560SELby Mac85tonow,iPhone 5. Same issue - rear camera worked until ios 7.0.2 update. Went to Apple Store and they did a fresh install which solved the problem for about an hour (I had already tried that but had to play along with troubleshooting 101). My iPhone is just out of warranty so I'm stuck hoping and waiting for an update or going back to the Apple store to argue about it.
