the iphone could not be synced because itunes this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items
iPhone 4, iOS 7
Just want to say that I am experiencing the same thing that Mohamed is finding.
Note that this is on an iPad (phone was done yesterday with far more problems). I did receive this same error on the iPhone and it went away at the same time that a lot of other problems disappeared.
I am guessing that this is due to overburdened servers on the Apple end <s>
Note also that this iPad has an App which is an orphan from an old appleID account (previous user who is no longer with our institution) but which I hate to loose. Will try deleting it and see if that clears the problem.
Note #2 to above post: removing the orphan App solved the problem for me.
I started experiencing this problem a day or two ago. I've tried everything I thought of and everything apple suggests to resolve this issue, but I'm still getting the error. I've only used one apple ID on my devices, so I don't know what could be causing it since my iPhone syncs fine. Anybody have any tips?
Was having the same problem. The post by Joe Pelline was the solution. I have an iPad my mother-in-law was given when she bought a new Cadillac. They had preset a couple of their own apps which included an Apple ID. Once I deleted those 2 apps, problem went away. Thank you Joe. I'd give you 10 pts if I could figure out how. 🙂
I've just joined the "Community" today. Was searching for a solution to this same problem on my iPhone. Thing is, this morning when I upgraded iTunes on my laptop and the OS on the phone (IOS 7.0), I performed a phone backup and at least 3 syncs throughout the morning without a problem. I was loading a lot of new apps from the Store, so was doing syncs regularly to confirm everything was loading ok. Then I got the same message you guys saw. Have tried all the tricks you've shared to no avail.
Frankly, I'm puzzled that there is no way to get an input from the Apple people on this - sounds a lot like an IOS7.0 hiccup.
Hope someone can assist. Thanks
We have one iMac with our iTunes library that is used by multiple devices in our home. We use separate Apple IDs so we can each utilize iCloud and not store each other items (leaving iCloud user exclusive). My problem went away when I signed on to iTunes with the device that was getting the above error. It then synced fine. Then I immediately did an iCloud backup. Hope that helps.
I found out the solution. You need to authorise your computer if you have muliple itune ids. I used alternate id earlier to purchase an app when my current id is having some problem. I logged in using that id and authorize the computer again, which solved this issue for me. Hope this helps.
If the above doesn't work, this is what worked for me. In the left panel right click on the device (iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc.) that is having the issue with syncing. Click on transfer purchases and iTunes will tell you the particular app on the device that is causing the issue. Remove the app(s) that are causing the issue from the device and it will sync properly.
Thanks DHPKC. Your tip helped me identify the offending app and I deleted it. All seems to be well now.
I deleted all the app that I had installed in my iPhone and tried to sync, and to my surprise it worked. Guess other apps were installed using different accounts and so iTunes had this issue.. 😎
I have only used one apple ID for purchases on my iPad and iTunes. When I tried DHPKC solution it gave me three apps it says are not authorized. I know for a fact that I used my only apple ID for purchasing them. I will delete them then try syncing again.
I deleted the three apps and am able to sync now. The problem is I now have to repurchase Star Walk if I want it from the app store because it is no longer showing up as being purchased by me. I know for a fact I used my Apple ID to purchase that app. Not very happy Apple.
Can somebody please help me? I have the same issue when I try syncing my iphone on my CPU. It says that this computer is not authorized and when I try authorising it I get a message saying that this computer is already authorized. I read the earlier posts on how to delete the apps but not sure how to find that app to delete. When I follow post DHPKC my device menu is greyed out- I cant click transfer purchases... I have also tried couple of other cpu's that I use my iphone with and they are authorized but now its the same error.
Thanks Kirthika🙂.... I deleted a few apps I had installed on my iphone before using a different id. I used my new apple id to sync apps and it worked like a charm😎..
I was a problem with orphan Apps too, because I changed my apple id and .ipa files stored on the disk were with the old apple id. So iTunes couldn't sync.
Deleting all apps from iTunes (just iTunes, no iDevice) and disk, and transfer purchases from the iDevice worked for me!
Thanks.
Best regards,
Julian.
