    You shouldn't, but you should back up your phone

    as anything can happen.

    I generally use iCloud for my backups, some apps like Momento for example have an backup option in the App itself to backup data you've entered in to the App, you'll need to check any apps like this to see if this functionality is evident, but anyway I digress. 

     

    Regardless of whether you use iCloud or Backup to your computer via iTunes make sure you backup prior to updating just incase there is any loss of data. Mine went fine, only issue I had was getting the download to work it took several attemps but this will be down to sheer demand for the new iOS.
