Is reset and restore the same?

I need to reset my phone and I made an appointment at the Genius bar. This has happened before with my other iphone. My phone is saying that I don't have enough space in my icloud but I know that it does. It is saying that because my phone got corrupted from downloading apps on/off wifi. I just want to reset myself really.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4

No, a reset and restore are not the same.

A reset is nothing more than pressing and holding the home and power buttons for approximately 15 seconds until the white Apple logo appears. No data is affect.

A restore is done either via iTunes or iCloud to a previous backup or as new. Data can and will be destroyed depending on the option selected.

Neither of which has anything to do with space availabe in iCloud.

Manage space in iCould in iCoud, either via the website or directly on the device.
