Jan 15, 2014 8:39 PM in response to kahuainaby Navyjax2,I did "C" via the Voicemail button, not through calling the phone number, but it is the same thing, basically, without all the keypresses. Deleted the items, then had to reboot my phone when I saw it had not cleared. After the reboot, there was one item still there, but deleted it and did the Clear All, and it was gone.

Jan 31, 2014 3:54 PM in response to kahuainaby Brucku,I wanted to add a new discovery I had. The problem has definately returned. But I finally have a "band-aid" that has worked numerous times.
1) hold the "1" on my keypad to dial into voicemail, enter 4 digit code.
2) delete any messages that you are having trouble deleting. Don't forget that the first "go-round" is only "unheard" messages. Then you have to press "1" again to go thru and delete the remaining already listened to messages. basically "7" any message you want to trash, and "9" the ones you want to keep.
3) hang up with the voicemail system and now delete the visual voicemails like normal. They will go to the Deleted Items, and then you can go to deleted and "Clear" them.
So far about 5 different times this week, this method has worked without fail.
Hope this helps the rest of you get thru this awful ios7 bug until apple fixes it.

Feb 6, 2014 7:16 AM in response to guitarboy02451by The_Thinker,Hi,
This issue has bothered me with several of my iPhones (4S, 5, and 5S) and iOS versions (iOS 5 and beyond). I have tried all of the remedies suggested, but the voice messages always come back. However, I think that I happened upon a solution...After deleting all of the messages, again, I was performing a task that required me to remove my SIM card from the device. Once I replaced the card and restarted the phone, voila, all of the persistent voice messages were gone.
I would suggest giving this a try, just in case it works for you.

Feb 6, 2014 10:07 AM in response to guitarboy02451by AZHERB,I had the same problem with trying to remove voice mail icons, and just discovered a solution -- I'm using an iPhone 4S with iOS 7. I deleted the calls received which had generated the voice mails and the voice mail notifications disappeared.

Feb 7, 2014 10:30 AM in response to guitarboy02451by MWaldrip,I just want to log a complaint about this same issue. iPhone 5 with ios 7. Apple, you need a full re-do on your visual voicemail.
Very frustrating to have to delete messages multiple times.
I refuse to do any of the "patches" suggested here. This should be a simple function of my phone.

Feb 12, 2014 12:43 PM in response to guitarboy02451by fosterbrandon,I have the same issue... voicemail reappearing after deletion. However, I noticed that if I had wifi turned on and tried to delete voice mail, it would do it on my phone but then they would all show up again... sometimes right away and sometimes a little later on. So I turned wifi off, deleted my voicemails, cleared all from the deleted messages folder, and now they're not coming back. Might give it try... worked for me so far.

Mar 3, 2014 10:10 PM in response to trishCDby tom4jax,Here is what I did. Called AT&T tech .. the woman told me it was an Apple issue and she refused to reset my voice mail as was suggested elsewhere in this discussion. Called Apple Care. Tech there confirmed it is a carrier issue.
Went to my AT&T store. A guy there easily reset my visual voicemail and regular voicemail account. That was Saturday and I have had no problems since. Every deleted voicemail has stayed deleted.
Now, an AT&T troubleshooter wants to talk to me about my disappointing experience with the tech that I first called.
If no deleted voicemails reappear between now and Saturday, I believe the problem will be over for me.

Mar 4, 2014 5:12 AM in response to tom4jaxby Brucku,As reported earlier, this does work - but the problem came back for me about 6 days later. I also caught the tech on the phone reading this thread's possible solutions back to me as if he had some sort of authentic repair manual.

Mar 14, 2014 9:20 PM in response to guitarboy02451by tom4jax,Just checked with a Genius .. She said 7.1 will fix the problem. Upgraded to 7.1. Waiting to see if she is correct:-)

Mar 14, 2014 9:29 PM in response to tom4jaxby Brucku,I have had the issue every day since I first got ios 7 except for a 4 day period after AT&T reset my voicemail feature. Since ios 7.1 - the problem seems gone. Even though apple has not admitted to resolving the problem or even working in voicemail, I know that they worked on voicemail because the weird "Glitch" where tapping a deleted message and then un tapping it makes the "ERASE" button press-able is gone. I see this as a good thing.
I'm hoping others can confirm no deletion issues since 7.1 upgrade.
