I had an issue with iTunes 11.1 after the update. I repaired permissions and 1,500 of them needed to be repaired. The repair on the permissions will not stick. Does anyone have any advice on this?

These days it's quite normal to get a long list of 'errors' on doing a permissions repair because Disk Utility has not been upgraded to allow for some changes made to the system.

As long as at the bottom of the list it says 'Permissions repair complete' you can safely ignore them all.

I thought something like this may have occured but after an initial permissions repair, the issue was gone, now it has reappeared. The "Next" and "Previous" buttons have disappeared from the Get Info box in the Movie section under the list view.

I'm afraid I can't make sense of that. What is your operating system? - perhaps Disk Utility is different from mine (Snow Leopard.) You could ask in the forum for your operating system.

The issue is with iTunes 11.1. under OS X 10.8.5. Go to iTunes > Movies > List. Select a movie with your cursor. Select "Get Info" from the contextual menu. When that box pops up, there should be four buttons across the bottom: "Previous", "Next", Cancel" and "OK". The "Previous" and "Next" buttons have evaporated. I used OnyX to repair the permissons.

I can't advise on that as I don't have Mountain Lion or any movies. I would advise asking in a new thread about this specific problem, as you're more likely to attract an answer.
