Sep 22, 2013 9:37 PM in response to csmith4105by dzseti,My feelings exactly ... the arrogant bunch at Apple aren't taking their customers seriously ..
There are more than enough people experiencing this issue for them to act - but they're just used to treating their customers like rather stupid people ...
Come on Apple - pull your finger out and do something!

Sep 22, 2013 11:55 PM in response to DblDprby tonefox,No you don't. You count 6675 viewings of this thread. How many times have you viewed it so far? Five times in the last two hours, I see. So if that is typical, start by dividing by five. I personally doubt there are over a hundred or two people contributing to the thread.

Sep 23, 2013 3:40 AM in response to Fede23by mcourd,I may have found a workaround. it took me a while to figure it out, but it seems to be controll center tha'ts causeing the issue. turn controll center off both from lock screen, and from apps, put into airplane mode, and reset network setting. worked for me, just now. hope I can help some people with this.

Sep 23, 2013 5:30 AM in response to mcourdby wabbitkilla,Nope tried disabling control centre.
You can turn off the buttons as much as you like but it doesn't disable the control centre.
Did all this and no difference, thanks for the suggestion it was worth a try in the absence of Apples' fix and abdicating responsibility.

Sep 23, 2013 6:21 AM in response to wabbitkillaby dzseti,Mcourd's work around didn't work for me either even after a complete restore of the device ...
When will Apple get it's act together ... so frustrating ... not a quality company ...

Sep 23, 2013 8:24 AM in response to DblDprby Sarah8383,Did you have a greyed out Wifi button before or just problems connecting?
I think we have to distinguish between those two different problems!

Sep 23, 2013 8:27 AM in response to Sarah8383by dzseti,My IPhone 4S has shown both: at one stage problems connecting when wifi was turned on (either none or only one of two local routers was shown); then at another stage wifi greyed out

Sep 23, 2013 8:48 AM in response to Fede23by woodmicha,Any ideas as to what the common theme is for why a phone gets this issue?
My device is a iPhone 4S on Verizon in US Bay Area.
I upgraded from 6 via the setting option on the phone directly w/o it being plugged into the iMac.
It worked for a few hours and now the enable wifi button is greyed out.
Also, do we need to call Apple support or is submitting an issue here good enough to help convey this issue is impacting users?
