Mar 17, 2014 2:29 PM in response to Fede23by homercartman,Well the same thing happened to me. I updated to IOS 7.1, and right after, no wi-fi. I went to the "genius" bar and the guy gave me some BS that this was not the update but that the problem was going to happen but their new update identified it.
After reading numerous threads about 4S problems with wi-fi, I was not expecting much. I didn't make a stink but I demanded that if I was not given a replacement handset, there was no way I would stay with a company that doesn't stand behind its products. The phone was a couple of weeks outside of warranty (my 2nd 4S as the first one broke too). So I purchased a NEXUS 5 yesterday as a better solution and will see how something new works. Most of my tech geek friends are andriod users which leads me to believe the cult of mac is quickly dying.

Mar 17, 2014 3:34 PM in response to homercartmanby Lessig,Ok, I tried the freezer and it worked for a little bit, then I have to put it back in and do it again..pain in the ***! This is also a replacement 4s. Disgusted too.. My plan is up on march 28, and I wanted to wait for the 6 to come out..I don't know what to do..I found that the Genius Bar will not help.. U have to call tech support to get a replacement.. They set up an appt with my apple store for another 4s..I love my apple products, or I did!

Apr 2, 2014 11:16 PM in response to Fede23by Wonho76,I am completely give up for the this issue.
It's over six month tracking regularly this thread from Sep. 2013.
I couldn't use wifi through my 4s from Sep. 2013 with iOS 7.
Still many people comes this thread, but saying same things over and over.
I am confidient there will be no apology or resolution from Apple at all.
A little shame, as a Korean, quite familiar this kind of tyranny from government and Samsung.
I have no other choice, I would go buy 5s.

Apr 3, 2014 5:04 AM in response to Fede23by chauvn,I have been having the same problem, went from wifi on and off to couldn't connect to wifi, didn't recognise net work to completely grey out. I paid three visits to apple store, did all steps people said above, they didn't find the problem, didn't admit it's because of their latest update software, and they told me to BUY a new phone. ....Great service!!!

Apr 3, 2014 5:20 AM in response to chauvnby TJBUSMC1973,It's not because of the latest iOS update. If it was, then all units would be affected.
Either pay the out-of-warranty fee ($149 for iPhone 4 and older, $199 for 4S, and $269 for iPhone 5 or newer) or get a new device.

Apr 3, 2014 5:44 AM in response to TJBUSMC1973by chauvn,Yeah, well, you're right, it wasn't ... just same thing happened to millions of users haha

Apr 3, 2014 1:46 PM in response to Wonho76by L8TAHOE,Wonho, dont listen to the Apple advocates. I have inside knowledge that not only is it simply an IOS issue that is misreading the chip temperature, but that they knew about this. There is a class action suit being started because of this. Have you tried my video here?

Apr 4, 2014 10:05 PM in response to Timothy Rockby chauvn,I thought he/ she was apple employee too, sounded just like the so-called technician I talked to at the store.

Apr 5, 2014 5:15 AM in response to Fede23by fromsouth,Excellent and mutually beneficial decision can be archived by reading that thread. People who expect Apple to cover phone replacement costs way beyond warranty can start by voting with their money to transition to other brands. Applle employees will get a benefit of working with customers with relatively "reasonable" expectations. After all some customers may realize that Apple was not that bad and some employees may realize that their job was lost due to customers leave. Plus IMHO why would anyone after trial of Android phone go back to Apple?

Apr 16, 2014 1:52 PM in response to Fede23by ftm42,What if we start charging our download costs to Apple? I vote we itemise all our phone bills and charge them for 3G downloads from when the upgrade was installed.
