screen sharing black screen?

We have an iMac connected to a Mac Mini Server via Thunderbolt which is then connected to a Pegasus R6 for RAID storage.

We're using the iMac as a monitor for the Mac Mini via screen share.

The problem is now when we flip over to the Mac Mini via screen sharing (command-F2), we're just getting a black screen. After a few seconds the black screen fades back into our regular iMac screen. So, it seems like it wants to connect but it's just not finding anything to connect to, but the Mac Mini is still connected and still works. While we are getting a black screen, another laptop is able to access the Mac Mini via Airport and it shows that the mini is clearly on and functional.

Model Name: iMac

Model Identifier: iMac10,1

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

Processor Speed: 3.06 GHz

Mac Mini server is the newest model bought 6 months ago. I can't access the computer so this is the best info I can give on that. Nothing has changed since we last accessed the Mac Mini Server via screen sharing.

Anyway the resolution could have changed on the Mini?

Can you/have you, rebooted the Mini?

Is the Mini going to sleep?

See if it's related to this...

The 2012 macs (and later apparently) not waking normally from sleep after hours being in sleep. (noted here ...

"Why 2012 iMac/2012 Mac Mini won't Wake After Hours of Sleep (Hibernates/Powers Off)")

The sleepimage file still reappears even if never slept. Delete it (hibernate off, etc) - within minutes its back.

A note on that here - http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/feedback/Chameleon_SSD_Optimizer.html
