i updated itunes and all the files on both my internal and external hard drives are locked. i have booted from recovery system and did a fix disk and fix permissions several times, but nothing works. also logged in as root, got info on the drives and copied unlock to all enclosed.as soon as i close it and open again, it is locked again. please help!

What exactly happens when you try to make changes to your files? Also, what backups do you have? If the answer is "none," back up now.
I have the same problem! Not absolutely sure, but I think it started with the latest upgrade to iTunes. The interesting thing, it is happening only on the files that I've changed the ID3 tags on with iTunes. Can't back up files due to permission changes on my backup external drive? I've tried changing via command line, but still having the same issues. Anyone have any recommendations?
I'm adding a note here because I have been getting a lot of disk permission errors - and they all seem to relate to iTunes as well. Something must have happened with the latest upgrade.
itunes update locked all my files and messed up my permissions!
