Problems with OverDrive after upgrade

After the upgrade - OverDrive will launch, but when I open a book, it exits the application. Suggestions?

My specific question is, iOS 7 disabled Overdrive completely and it took me half a day to fix that. Now they are offering iOS 7.0.2 and I wonder if that will again disable Overdrive requiring half a day to fix. So far I have seen nothing on this. The new version of Overdrive is less user-friendly than the previous one, but I have figured it out - however I don't need to be doing this every day or two...seems 7.0.3 etc. may be coming along any minute.

Yes, I'm annoyed that Apple would release an "upgrade" that disabled one of the most common applications used on iPads; that is conduct worthy of Microsoft and there is no greater insult in my lexicon.

Is it worth installing 7.0.2?? What gain? What loss?

And has Apple lost its way since Steve died?

Help article for those who have installed iOS 7 (not 7.0.1 or 7.0.2, just 7):

This fixed my problem with 7, but see above, I'm wondering what to do about the offered 7.0.2 "upgrade" given the disaster caused on my iPad by the upgrade to 7.

BTW, don't be thrown if your Adobe password has to be set the next time you want to download a book to

Overdrive. I received an email today about Adobe's security breach last week, informing me that all Adobe IDs have to be reset. To be safe I did not follow the email link but accessed the Adobe site directly on Safari. Did the reset with no problem.

I don't blame Apple I blame Overdrive. Since upgrading to IOS 7.0.2 and Overdrive 3.0.2 all I get is "Internet Not Available" even though it clearly is. OMC is one of the most frustrating Apps I have ever come across. The previous version required switching off the iPad before downloaded books would appear in the bookshelf. Now this version doesn't recognise when the internet is available.

lol. See my post above asking about ios 7.0.2 and saying 7.0.3 would be along soon - well I never thought so soon, it's out today!

Anyone upgraded to 7.0.3 yet? Did it break overdrive, or anything else?

To el morche, overdrive has never done any of those errors for me and I use it a lot...you might try their own support at http://help.overdrive.com

I also have overdrive 3.0.2 but have not yet installed ios 7.0.2 after the ios 7 fiasco.

Others? Please help!

I didn't find any problems reported elsewhere so decided to do the update to ios 7.0.3 on my iPad. The first build bar took only about 5 minutes...only to be replaced with a second, however it took only about a minute, then a few setup steps. At first all seemed ok, did not break Overdrive or BlueFire Reader or anything else I checked. However then Calendar froze completely and I had to restart. Now seems ok after restart...fingers crossed.

I caught up on this thread right after doing the 7.0.3 upgrade on my iPhone 5c, iPad 3 and iPad 4, I tested Overdrive's performance to see how it was working. I'm using Overdrive 3.0.2, and both iPads are wi-fi only. I downloaded an ebook and an audiobook, to all three devices (I think that's the number of downloads Overdrive for any one item). I did not have to do any re-registering of Overdrive, and both the ebook and the audiobook were easily accessed on all three devices. The audiobook played with no problem. I did do a reset on each device after the upgrade, just as a matter of course.

How's your 3G iPad doing when you try to access the Internet via Safari? Are you using 3G only, or have you also tried wi-fi?

For my iPad I use Wifi only, usually at home, and my internet using Safari is fine. I don't have a 3G service, no iPhone yet 😟 due to Fido cell contract.

One wrinkle I should have mentioned is that with the new iOS and new Overdrive, the nice dictionary-then-wikipedia word search (for words inside books) has stopped working. This happened as soon as I went to iOS 7 though it worked very occasionally; now seems to be gone for good with iOS 7.0.3.
