No "Blur"-Effect on the iPad 3

Yesterday I installed iOS 7, just when it came out. I was really fascinated about it. Everything looked wonderful and totally new, but after a while I thought that something is missing - the blur, that looked so wonderful. First I thought it was a wrong setting, so I checked out the settings, but even after turning on and off the contrast, it only was transparent, but not blurred. Even a reset didn't change anything, so I started searching for the problem.

I found out, that the blur-effect has been removed on beta 5, even if it worked good in beta 4. But why? I'm sure the iPad 3 is capable enough and even if it would have decreased performance, there would have been the option to turn it off in the settings (like on the other devices).

My device is only 14 months old, that's by far not the age to say it is outdated or not capable of something softwareside.

As it seems, I'm not the only one that noticed this, so I wanted to ask, who also noticed that.

And a question to the iPad 2-Users: Do you have the blur-effect? Or do you also have transparency?

I hope we will get a statement because of this, the iPad 3 is seriously capable enough to have that blur-effect and it is definitely not outdated. I thought buying an iPad 3 will guarantee me at least two years of most of the feature updates, if I would have known, that it is outdated after a half year, I would have waited or bought something else. Th s definitely not the way to treat paying costumers.

I would have been so angry if i 'd bought the ipad 3! You should have access to all features of ios7!

I have an ipad 2,and i'm ok with the limitations like the photos filters....But not having a color effect which is part of the design : that's a shame!

i didn't upgrade to iOS 7,i'm scared it's gonna kill my performances.I love my ipad2 so much the way it is that i would be completly devastated.

On the performance-side, the iPad 2 shouldn't be worse than the iPad 3, because the less power is compensated with the lower resolution (the iPad 3 needs more power for the high resolution). It should run fine, but I would wait at least until 7.0.1, because the animations on pinch with 5 fingers look laggy and the animation for multitasking is't synced with the movement your hand has, that's so irritating, that I prefer pressing the home button now (which I really never did before)

I have the same issue. I'm very surprised Apple let this one through given their previous obsessiveness with UI design. IOS 7 on IPad 3 is a stark Black and white, and with the newer thinner fonts and icons it makes things graphically very very hard to read. I'm finding I have to turn down the brightness quite a bit to reduce eye strain. It's just not a comfortable user experience.

Given translucency and blur are the major hallmark of IOS 7, if they couldn't implement it correctly they should just restrict it to newer devices and leave it at that.
