Do the media player controls work from the lock screen for you? I have the same issue with both lock screen and control center controls.
Play, track forward, and track backward are not working.
Volume and scrubbing (drag to a specific time in the song) are working fine with the exception of volume on the lock screen being very touchy. if i don't touch it at just the right point, it slides the whole screen left or right.
iPhone 5, iOS 7

It does work now
You just reset the phone after that will be ok.

That's weird. After a power cycle it does work. I was on a couple planes yesterday so i know i've already power cycled my phone a couple times since installing iOS 7. I'm wondering if a process is hanging in the background which will cause this to happen from time to time

I've tried power cycling and it still doesn't work. I'm using a 4s running iOS7. Please help.
I tried the following power cycling methods:

I have exactly the same problem and I think it occurs after you play a video on quick time player (maybe on youtube or on any other website). If you try using play-forward-backward buttons on control center they just wont work on my iphone 4s device. Volume control still works fine though. Another issue about the music player is that in ios 6 you were successfully able to listen your music even if the device is locked (you just have to press the home button device and the music player would appear under the clock). Unfortunately, if you disable to reach the control center when the device is locked, there seems to be no other way to reach your music player on locked screen and that is just rubbish...

Same. iPhone 5, iOS 7. In both locked and unlocked screens, the music controls other than volume do not work. It works when I reset the phone but then goes back to not working.

I'm getting the same results. After a restart it will work, and then after some amount of time, the controls stop working. I haven't been able to find anything that might be causing it.

Same thing here, I have a 4s running on ios7. The music control on the locked screen works whenever they want to. When they aren't functionning, my bluetooth control in my car aren't working either. I usually have to reset my phone and they will work for a couple of hours then.. back to not working.

I have similar problem but with iPhone 4. Phone has to be unlocked for any of the music controls to work.

There another discussion going on about Bluetooth connectivity that I believe is the same issue.
I've noticed that when I lose Bluetooth control I also lose lock screen control. Perhaps it is hardware related. I have a 4S.

I don't want to send anyone off in the wrong direction, but EvanR I think you might be on to something here and I'll tell you why: I just bought a 5s last week running iOS 7.0 and when I first paired it up with my 2012 Infiniti G37 it worked fine (previously I had a 4s running iOS 6 with no problems pairing or streaming). Then today I noticed that the steering wheel controls stopped working and also that the music controls on control center were not functioning (except volume was ok). I rebooted the phone (no deleting device or other changes to the car) and it started working again (so far).
But here's the thing: a few days ago while I was running I noticed that the remote control on my earphones stopped working. Same exact issue: no, pause, no ff/reverse, nothing. I rebooted the phone then and the remote control on the earplugs started working again.
I didn't think of the possible connection until I started reading this thread. It seems like they might be related and obviously would be a phone issue rather than a vehicle issue.

Same problem with me... I have a iPhone 4 running iOS 7.0.2 and both lock screen and control center music controls don't work. Although when is restart it works for about 5 minutes. Please help!!!! I'm thinking about going back to iOS 6!!!

Same problem that everyone else talking. I use it with Bluetooth and think it could be related problems.

Same problem here and it seems to have just started in the last few days. I use bluetooth reguarly and this morning in the car, it would not play and now the controls on the lock screen do not work. Even logging in and going to the music player would not work one time.
Rebooted and everything worked for a short period and now back to not working again from the lock screen.
Based on the dates in this thread, this issue has suddenly happened to multiple people and I know I have not installed any updates.
