Q: Iphone 4s ios 7 battery issues

I posted this question in the basics forum, but it probably belongs here:  Since installing iOS 7 on my iPhone 4s, the battery life seems to be significantly reduced, at least judging by how quickly my battery life percentage meter keeps dropping.  I've gone through and turned off all sorts of settings, like location services on most everything, etc.  Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue?  Anyone know of any fixes?

Well Apple?  This conversation is up to 18 pages with at least 15 people per page complaining about this situation. Don't tell me you no one from the company reads these for customer satisfaction purposes.  You put on a nice big song and dance and we bought into it, and it wasn't cheap either.  Now you have a problem that may turn a large number of your customers away for a more reliable product.  I think there is a worm in that rotten Apple!  The profits that you made last year wouldn't make you go bankrupt to satisfy your customers, come on, be for real.

Hopefully Apple will listen to us and fix this bug in the next iOS update.

Nooooooooooooooooo I cried as I felt the life slip out of my handset.. I could hear a evil laugh as the ios7 screen flashed on my phone and then it DIED.... As I drew my arm back to throw the thing/phone against the wall, I awoke in a cold sweat grabbed my phone and realised I still had iOS6 Oh happy days!!!

I am a long time Apple user (currently ipod, iphone, ipad, macbook, macbook pro and apple tv). I rarely found any faults with Apple products and always loved the product and interface design. I am one of those people that end up selling apple products to friends just from being positive about my own. I don't mind IOS7 in terms of design, in fact I quite like it. What has made me HATE IOS7 is the fact that my battery is getting drained. I can't believe the difference with IOS6. I used to be able to go the whole day on a single charge (with normal use), now I am charging 3,4,5 times a day.  What is the point of an iphone if you can't use it! Battery efficiency should be an absolute priority. I have tried all the different solutions posted in articles (background app refresh, notifications, brightness, factory reset etc.) but with no luck...! I feel the same frustration I had with Microsoft products back in the day...! I hope this is resolved in an update.  Latest Mac OSX improves battery performance, in my opinion this apporach should also be taken in the development of IOS. I was planning to upgrade my ipad to IOS7 but now no way! Dissapointed there is no way of downgrading. APPLE please don't push me away!

The thing is why don't you look it up on Google or YouTube it to see if there is a fix for your problem!!!

I'm sick of hearing your complaints!!!

Techguy3347. Do you really think I would have come on this forum and wrote what I wrote without extensively checking the internet for fixes? I am sure this is the same for a lot of other people in this forum. Have you ever had something you love and depend on being rendered useless by an update that should have made it better? And as a principle, a loyal customer of a product should not be forced to then search the web for third party solutions on how to resolve issues resulting from the software design of an update. It is in Apple's commercial interest that its customers maximise the usage of their products and maintain their loyalty and love for the brand. It is in Apple's commercial intererst that it listens to it loyal customers.

    Akaemenes,

I used to be that guy too until in just the last year I had two defective iPhone 5, an iPhone 4S that crapped out with iOS 7 "upgrade" (obviously), a Macbook Pro Retina that remains unreapaired after a month of repairs and three logic boards, a Macbook Air that required a logic board after just a couple of weeks of use and a thunderbolt display with defects on the screen (the replacement thunderbolt even has a very small defect too between the front glass panel and the actual screen but I don't have time to argue about it).  My apple tv and iPad retina are the only things that work as advertised without issue (knock on wood!).

Pretty incredible.  Apple's response on all of these issues has basically been "screw you".

What a shame! I feel part of your pain and would probably go mad if I was in your position. What many people forget is that Apple products are supposed to be premium, whether the quality is or not now, the price certainly remains that way.  I have always loved how my Apple products have lasted, been built well and held timeless designs. Whether or not other manufacturers had better quality hardware elements, I always valued the synergy between hardware and software in Apple products, finding it always more reliable, efficient and user friendly than competitors. A real shame if this is changing... Touch wood, my other Apple products are doing me just fine for now.

My daughter is busy interviewing for residency in New York City and it is very frustrating that many evenings I get calls from unknown phone numbers from my daughter telling me when I should pick her up from the train station. Her phone was dead and she had to go over to strangers asking if she culd use their phone to call up her father since her phone was dead. All this happened immediately after my son-in-law "downgraded" her phone to IOS 7. Come on guys, lets get this fixed!

Th thing is you people don't understand!!! You people shouldn't come on to these forums because Apple is not the problem according to What all of you have said!!! It's not their faults so don't blame them  for these problems because  it might be that you have a defective phone that may of been screwd with during the process of making it. Or it might be time to just get a new iPhone obviously! Plus I'm  sick of hearing about your stupid responses on this forum!!! Apple doesn't want to hear it either! I'm also taking apple's side of the issue. And It's not apple's fault at all it's your own fault for buying a defective phone!

    Dear techguy3347,

We are all having similar issues after upgrading to iOS7. Whilst I appreciate that it is possible that we all have faulty phones (and we somehow did not notice this faultyness on iOS6) it seems unlikely. Personally I think that it would be a very huge coincidence and I have therefore drawn the conclusion that iOS7 is to blame.

As you seem to be getting "sick of reading about [our] stupid responses", then you are very welcome to unsubscribe from this forum and we will not bother you again. I can assure you that it was none of our intentions to annoy you, or Apple, we were simply trying to figure out what was going on with our phones.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused, and I wish you the best reading posts you are "sick of" and commenting thus.

    Regards,

    robinotter
