Dec 26, 2013 10:15 PM in response to firaskurdiby gtblack,I'll let you know if I will experience the same thing if I upgraded my iphone. First I will go to my subscribers tech support and get advice from them wether or not I should upgrade to ios7. They gave me a headsup that ios7 consumed more battery than ios6 but we'll see.

Dec 27, 2013 10:48 AM in response to landminespring28by Ar.Farooq,I bought my phone lastSaturday, and the battery dropped to 17% within 6 hours of a full charge with 3G, wifi, bluetooth, location, background app refresh, push, cellular data, wallpaper parallax, EVERYTHING basically turned off.
I contacted customer support on chat who told me that my phone battery was OK, after running a diagnostic test.
They further asked me to reset my phone and reinstall the iOS. But the problem remained.
The best part is, i did not upgrade my iPhone to iOS 7... It came preinstalled.
I mean this is shameful. If Apple cannot provide battery life on their phones, then why the sham of the upgrade...?
I feel very disappointed and robbed.
I hope people at Apple are reading this thread.

Dec 31, 2013 5:35 AM in response to landminespring28by brsm1990,After receiving a brand new 5S through work and doing some extnesive testing here are the results I've had.
iPhone 4S under iOS 6.x - 7-8 hours usage time.
iPhone 4S under iOS 7.x - 3.5 - 4.5 hours usage time
iPhone 5S iOS 7.0.4 brand new with default factory configuration except reduced brightness and auto brightness turned off and reduced motion - 5 - 6 hours usage time.
iPhone 5S with my iPhone 4S backup restored iOS 7.0.4 - 5-6 hours usage time.
Conclusion: iOS 7 s_u_cks

Dec 31, 2013 2:51 PM in response to brsm1990by Zloff,Indeed, iOS 7 stinks. But, you gotta admit, it does look fancy. All we need is our 7-8+ usage time and we're good.

Jan 1, 2014 4:06 PM in response to Zloffby marcus_30,IOS 7 stinks on my 4s but I do agree that it looks nice.
I have tried all sorts, switching things off so that it is no longer a smart phone, restoring. The only thing that will work is turning off celluar data. No longer a smart phone anymore.
Another good fix is to swtich off the phone and I get days of battery life, oh enough of the sarcasm. lol

Jan 1, 2014 11:44 PM in response to landminespring28by Bojangles1954,So are we saying thers is nothing we can do to prolong the battery life, not even on the ne 5S??
Seems a little "Un Apple" like to me down under in Oz
As you can gather, same problem, any tricks of the trade to at least slow down the drainage?
Cheers
Peter

Jan 2, 2014 1:11 AM in response to landminespring28by manuelpfist,While I agree that's certainly plausible that Apple is purposely blowing up some percentage of older phones to "encourage" upgrades has anyone considered another possibility as to why some users experience random battery drain but not others?
