Sep 30, 2013 7:56 AM in response to landminespring28by AbiOlive,I have read every blog seeking an answer. I've turned off every backgroup function, location service, bluetooth, restarted, reset, calibrated battery... EVERYTHING!
The morning before I downloaded iOS7, my 4s worked beautifully and reliably held a charge throughout my busy work day. From the moment I downloaded, my 4s has been a nightmare. I am forced to charge every couple of hours just to make it through a standard day at the office. On a full charge, with all background functions off and no use, my phone will drop to zero battery and shut off within less than five hours.
My beloved 4s went from being my most invaluable tool to my greatest liability with a single download. Apple, please help!!!

Sep 30, 2013 8:03 AM in response to AbiOliveby brsm1990,Same. Restored as new DFU. Nothing on the phone. It gets 4 hours usage max. Girlfriend's identical 4S with 6.1.4 currently has 5 hours usage and 1 day 7 hours stand by with 30% battery left.

Sep 30, 2013 9:28 AM in response to techguy3347by brsm1990,Shockingly stupid post above. 4S isn't under warranty anymore. We should reward them for ruining our perfectly good phones by buying another? What?

Sep 30, 2013 9:36 AM in response to landminespring28by techguy3347,I'm so sick and tired of getting messages on this same problem so my only advice to you people is to take your iPhone to the Apple Store!!!! So don't keep on sending me messages on this same problem!!!!! Take your phone into the Apple store and let them evaluate it and if you have Apple care that should cover your replacement phone!!!

Sep 30, 2013 9:45 AM in response to landminespring28by CJfromAB,As techguy3347 does not appear to know how to use the boards, and there does not appear to be a reliable fix for this problem (especially from Apple), I will not be opting out of receiving updates on this thread.
Thanks techguy3347.

Sep 30, 2013 5:49 PM in response to landminespring28by Centresud,1 1/2 year old Iphone 4 updated to IOS 7 and losing 20% of battery life per hour even with all the suggested adjustments to save battery life. Tons of people having the same issue but not a peep from Apple. From a reliable smart phone to an expensive paper weight.

Sep 30, 2013 6:27 PM in response to landminespring28by glendafromco,None of this is going to help. We will have to wait for a update. You almost wonder if Apple makes it this way to sell more 5 series phones. I mean the update has not effected any of the new iphone 5s or 5c. They should have put a warning on the update for anyone using the 4s.
I had to schedule an oppointment so the "genius" guy could tell me that the update does not work with my 4s phone. Seriously thinking of purchasing a driod. Apple makes it hard to stay loyal.

Oct 1, 2013 6:53 AM in response to landminespring28by cabrini5,Same issue with the battry draining after downloading iOS 7.. turned off the settings recommended but iphone and ipad will not make it through a full day without recharging. It also takes longer to charge..not worth the new features!

Oct 2, 2013 1:00 AM in response to landminespring28by Mondayc2h5oh,Some sad story! Don't know how regret to update to iOS7. It's almost a trap to let us iPhone4S users purchase the 5S. In iOS7.0.2, my battery life shrinks to 5.5 hours in use and 8 hours in standby. When it was in iOS6.1.2, it could survive after 8.5 hours in use and 22 hours in standby.
I've already been to the Apple store for the trouble shooting. However, the genius just check my iPhone's status, and said that the battery is in good condition (the whole capacity is 85% as a brand new one).
I think that all the problem is the iOS7's power management driver of the iPhone4S is not optimized. As for the reason...you can tell...FORCE YOU TO GET A NEW 5S!

Oct 2, 2013 1:11 AM in response to Mondayc2h5ohby brsm1990,You're lucky. I only get 3.5-4 hours usage. Used to be 8 hours usage and 1 day standby. My standby is fine but any usage at all immediately drains the battery.

Oct 2, 2013 1:28 AM in response to Mondayc2h5ohby AlexIt69,If Apple is forcing iPhone 4S owners to buy a new device, in this period of crisis, is likely to lose a lot of customers, especially for the future.
However, I will not change phone until it will become obsolete, but when the time comes, "I will remember" this treat.
Thanks again, Apple. -
Oct 2, 2013 12:49 PM in response to landminespring28by orbiq,My battery hold only for 16 hours! it is also frustrating that you cannot downgrade to ios6 . It was my life mistake this upgrade to ios7. I am considering to sell iphone and buy some other smartphone (nexus for example).
apple - are you kidding ? *** ?
