Iphone 4s ios 7 battery issues

I posted this question in the basics forum, but it probably belongs here: Since installing iOS 7 on my iPhone 4s, the battery life seems to be significantly reduced, at least judging by how quickly my battery life percentage meter keeps dropping. I've gone through and turned off all sorts of settings, like location services on most everything, etc. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue? Anyone know of any fixes?

Guys, I'm also on iPhone 4S and went through all the ios7 betas before yesterday installed the final release. Reality is that during the betas the battery performance was a joke, however after upgrading the performance has improved A LOT, but still feel that to certain extent it is draining more than it should.

Something that I'll try today is to do a full restore and start as a new phone. I'll post here again after completion to report my findings.

Hi guys! Same sad story here. After upgrading to iOS 7 (from 6.1.3) iPhone 4s is draining the battery with a ridiculous rate of 1% every 1-2 mins. I've already tried to restore it and set up as a new phone, but with no luck. Even when the phone is switched off, battery drops a 1-2% (maybe this is due to the booting up). It's a tragedy, I mean... the battery sucked already before, but now... man, we need a socket everywhere we go if we want to use our iPhones seriously.

I'we read that this behaviour doesn't show on iPhone 5, many users are reporting a battery life improvements. So the thing is related to iPhone 4s and maybe to iPhone 4.

I've found so far this tricks to make the battery last more:

- switched off the background app auto refresh;

- switched off the GPS (disabling the many system services, like iAd, traffic, ect.);

- reduced the brightness and choosen a dark wallpaper;

- disabled notifications of apps I don't care of.

I hope Apple is reading this and taking care of many customers that want to enjoy the new OS, but at the same time are frustating of not using it completely because the battery doesn't last half a day.

Just to finish up this story, we can't downgrade our iPhone anymore since Apple blocked the restoring process yesterday... a fix must be released ASAP!

Same here - my 4s battery used to be quite good (surprisingly!) and would easily last the day with taking photos, phone calls, social networking etc but now with much less usage I am having to charge it almost constantly... Over night, then on my way to work as it will already be down to 60% to put it back up to 80% by lunch it will be at about 20% so another charge until about 2pm to get it back up to 100% then by the time I leave the office it will be under 10% so charge again on the way home plus another hour - two when I get into the house to get up to about 80% then by bedtime it's under 20% again... I seriously can't live with it like this...

Does anyone from apple actually read these forums as they wanted to charge me £25 to speak to a tech person...

Too bad! This is a nightmare, we're in tha same boat.

I'm sure somebody from Apple is reading this forum, I'm thinking about Apple Store employees to keep updated with issues around the world. Anyway employees at the Apple Store already know about this issue (lees battery life) because they are the first iPhone users. All we have to do is waiting for a bugfixing. It'll come now or then...

I have been a battery maximizer on various versions of iOS and a few iPhones including this 4s now. I did a clean install of ios7 and restored from a recent backup. After checking that all mail accounts remained set to fetch, screen brightness was low and various other old tricks I got into the new tricks, disabled background apps, location updates for just about everything, switched off 'motion', and translucence... The list goes on. The battery drain has slowed but is still significantly higher than it used to be. While I normally finish a day out with 20-30% battery left, last night it was down to 1% so I let it go until the phone switched off before charging.

I do like the increased control of things like location services, but needing all these tricks to get even a full day out of the battery is ridiculous.

Same issue here with iPhone 4S, included a clean install. Even without restoring my backup, the battery will drop abnormally just after 2 hours of use.

Apple please fix it immediately or allow to downgrade to iOs 6.1.3 until you fix it: not many people will buy an iPhone 5C/5S only to solve the battery problem and with a newer graphical interface that makes absolutely no say Ooooohhh .... there is a real risk of losing customers at this point.

And the working world need working devices... not toys....
