Wont charge how?  Could you explain on how you are charging the device?

Are you charging from a wall charger or USB to a computer? Is this normally how you charge?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Thank you Tom for your suggestion but that didn't work either. I had to turn the brightness down for the screen and then it started charging. Very strange!

my ipad 8 pin  64 GB won't charge either. it will sinc but that is all. I turned the brightness all the way down and still won't charge in any of my chargers. I am not updating any more of my devices after this. We spend too much money on our apple products to have issues like this after updates.

My iPad won't charge either, immediately following an IOS7 update.  Two button reset didn't help.  Apple, fix this quick!

Mine will not charge anymore either, now the battery has drained down to 1% and its stuck in a boot loop.

Apple continually disables functionality of third party devices on every update. My HDMI adapter stopped passing audio when I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion. Now my iPads will not charge using my third party chargers/cables.

I suggest the nation all gather at the steps in Cupertino and dump their useless devices on their doorstep. If I have to make a new purchase, it will be to an Android tablet.

Mine won't charge either.  It shows the charging icon but the battery slowly drains.  Called support.  They had be do a factory reset.  Did that, same issue.  Can't roll back to iOS 6 anymore.  iPad essentially bricked.  Thank you Apple.

P.S. Other devices only trickle charge as well, but they do not use power like the iPad 3, so they are somewhat usable.

If charging from computer USB, from a mac mini in my case, the mac has  to be restarted with ipad attached. The ipad will then ask if the mac is  to be trusted before allowing it to connect with itunes and before  allowing it to recharge from it!

Are you using a Apple charger or are you using a 3rd party charger?  Are you plugged into a USB port on a computer or are you plugging it in with a charger?  I haven't had any problems getting mine to charge since the update and I have it charge from my MacBook USB port and my charger that came with the iPad.  I will not however, ever use a third party charger for my devices.

My relative with a recently upgraded iPad experienced this problem but left her iPad plugged into the power.  Then she noticed that the battery had gone from 7% to 12%--and that the battery icon had changed with iOS 7.

Hope this is the answer you're looking for!
