Either restore the device from the most recent backup in iTunes to remove the passcode or put it in DFU mode and restore as new.

Just curious, why would you not simply enter the passcode that you previously set? Per your own comments, you clearly set a passcode... either that or you're confused about what was done.

If you sync it with ITunes it will reset the timer back to 1 min.

Almost 3 years later, I doubt anyone cares and seriously hope the OP has already resolved their issue.
