PLEASE HELP ios7 storage issue

It's saying i don't have enough storage on my iphone 4 (8gb- or whatever the lowest one is..) to download the ios7 EVEN THOUGH ALL apps, pictures,songs, and music is deleted. So pretty much i have everything deleted on my iphone and its still saying i don't have enough space. Like it says 3.7 GB used and 2.6 GB available and that i need 2.9 GB to download it.. but everything is deleted and i have nothing else to delete to get more storage! PLEASE HELP thanks(:

Many have experienced this issue with the iPhone4. The best and easiest way to update is to use iTunes. Otherwise, you'll either have to upgrade your phone or just stay with your current iOS.

Well i try doing it on itunes. I click "update" then it says "A new iPhone software version (7.0) is available, but requires iTunes 11.1. Would you like to download iTunes 11.1 now?" so i click "download itunes" and it takes me to the app store and says "no updates available" UGH so i can't download itunes OR ios7 PLEASE HELP thanks !

In iTunes on the computer, go to Help, Check for updates. If that doesn't work, then with your browser, go to www.apple.com/iTunes and download the latest version. Do this on the computer, not on the phone.

Okay, so i download it from itunes with my phone plugged in after i uploaded itunes and i wait about 10 min. for "iphone software update" then i get a little pop up thing after remaining time is done saying "the software for the iphone was corrupted during downlaod" "disconnect and reconnect, then try again.make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later" and i've already 'tried again later' and recconected and im pretty sure the connection settings are correct. One hint that I have always done when doing a major iOS update is when connected to iTunes, and I check for update, I always click on Download Only. Once I know the download has been accomplished, I then click on update again and it will expand the software and install. That has always worked for me.

iphone says it has 23gb free, itunes says i have 500mb free, syncing results in "you have 1.5gb too much selected" warning/error

It sounds as if you are looking at two different things as far as free space is concerned. Where it the iPhone saying you have 23GB free, and where is iTunes saying you only have 500MB free? That is quite a large disparity.

the phone is saying in settings-general-storage

itunes is saying in the coloured bar at the bottom

after doing a couple more 'remove all music' 'resync'

it seems to have righted itself somewhat, though still not showing the correct figure

moving from ios6 to 7 has allowed me about an extra 1000 songs on there

I would advise you not to upgrade to iOS7 if you have an iPhone 4 if you can avoid it. I put off upgrading for a year and half because I was perfectly happy with my phone's performance and frankly was too impatient to wait out the upgrade, but I just recently upgraded and have been having all kinds of problems since then. Even when I clear all of my photos, video, voice memos, apps and safari memory off of my phone, the memory remains full with "other," leaving me unable to put any photos or music on my phone. It *****:( I've tried powering down and "rebooting" and restoring it to factory settings and that "other" continues to loom there. I've checked other messages in the support community and this seems to be a common problem and no solution has been provided. DON'T DO IT!
