    Exactly what I wast thinking.  And just where will the reviews come from unless some people download it?  Besides that, there is a reasonable expectation on the part of the Apple consumer that the product will be operational and free of major bugs and glitches.

    The issue is that wifi keeps dropping and going back the cell service which costs money by eating up your monthly data allotment.

    What am I doing here?  Offering technical support to other users.  I'm not here to listen to people whine about how they don't like the aesthetics of iOS 7, especially when the general design has been publicly available for MOTNHS.  This is a user-to-user technical forum, not a forum to gripe about Apple or iOS 7.  There are other forums for that.


    No one can get wifi?  Very incorrect.  I get wifi just fine.  It's not an issue with iOS 7.  It's a defective hardware issue.

    The vast majority of iPhones Wi-Fi works properly.  Don't exagerrate. It's not the end of the world.  Just get your device fixed or replaced.  Simple.

    There's only been one 'major' bug, and it's been fixed in iOS 7.0.2, released 8 days after 7.0 came out.


    The wi-fi issue you are experiencing is not a bug in iOS 7.  It's a hardware defect in your device.

    Mine is an iPhone 5s purchased on day 1. I don't think it's the hardware but the software that is dropping the wifi for 3G. I am going to go to the apple store and verizon to find out.

    I disagree with you, my device (4S) was just fine before the update, for the past year and a half, everyday use, the wifi did not have problems


    I already made my ssid visible, i reset the network settings on the phone, no change. Randomly connects and disconnects.


    @apple, please work on this

    @TJBUSMC1973 You magically know that it is a hardware issue with my phone even though it worked PERFECTLY before the update?  You are not offering technical support, you are just telling us that we are imagining things basically. Also, I have talked in person to 3 people who have updated and encountered similar or worse problems after updating.  So no, it is not an obscure problem.

    Mine is an iPhone 5 that is only a month old, by the way and I have always babied it.  I don't see how it ran perfectly until the moment it restarted with a new OS--how can one determine that it is a hardware problem?

    This thread is called IOS Wifi Issues.  Who is whining about asthetics.  And I haven't read any comments that complain that "no one can get wifi."  Only you.  But clearly everyone here is having this issue and that's why they come to this forum, to see what we can find out in common.  If your iOS 7 is working fine, then I'm happy for you. Now go play in someone else's yard.  If you're not having the wifi issue then why are you here criticizing the posters who are having those problem?  Got over yourself.

    And how can it be a hardware problem when the issue occured after the new upgrade? (as others have pointed out) I have 3 Apple devices in my house.  All 3 devices worked flawlessly until I upgraded one of the phones.  The problem occured with the upgrade.  How can it be hardware?  I didn't change hardware, I changed software.

    I have disabled the Cellular Data and left only wifi working...then I have tried to play a game of Solstice Arena, it disconnected me from the server every 10 to 20 seconds !!

    It is not because it switches to 3G, it was turned just doesn't stay connected !

    Until the update I had absolutely no network problem whatsoever.

    It just so happens that I work as a software tester for a major multinational corporation. It is more than obvious that this is indeed a software bug. You can easily reproduce it by trying to play a simple match of Solstice Arena, it is free, and it will only take about 10 minutes...if you never get disconnected from the server, then your device is most likely not affected by this problem. Also, another hint that this is a software bug could be the fact that it has been manifested on different hardware configurations, on different devices, iPads and iPhones, different generations. (and they do not use exactly the same wifi chips)

    Now that makes the most sense yet.  Thank you for clearing up that debate. 
    I guess I would ask why it's happening on some select devices and not others.  And even when I reset the network settings and later installed 7.0.2, it made no difference.    I'm on my way to the Apple store tomorrow armed with what I've learned from this blog.  I hope they fix it or replace it.

    I had the same problem and once I started closing apps (home button twice, then swipe up to close apps) it started working right away.  Hope that helps

    Same problems here in Germany. The WiFi Button of my iPhone 4S is frozen and I can´t connect with our router anymore. With iPad 3 and MacBook Pro no problems..
