Oct 16, 2013 9:56 AM in response to goligoby goligo,Fyi, I have been contacted by Apple Support and asked for further information regarding the issue. I was sent a special configuration profile to create log files for the mail app. So they are showing interest in the issue and are trying to understand what is going wrong.

Oct 17, 2013 12:41 PM in response to goligoby sgeffm,Just got an answer for my bugreport as well. My issue is, that after some hours no new emails are being downloaded from the imap server. I need to readd the server to get it working again.
They asked me to extract the device console logs with the iPhone config utility while reproducing the error.
But I do not see any logs while the device tries to connect to the server to fetch emails.
Any ideas?

Oct 17, 2013 12:50 PM in response to sgeffmby daq7,I have no IMAP errors after fixing the Delete Emails issue with the solution I posted above.
I am using IOS 7.0. Can someone confirm they are having the problem with this version? Does the problem only occur with IOS 7.0.2?
Just trying to find out if it has something to do with the IOS version.

Oct 17, 2013 1:52 PM in response to sgeffmby goligo,Better ask your support contact how to use the profile to create the log file. I think this something Apple internal, which does not belong in the community.

Oct 17, 2013 1:53 PM in response to daq7by goligo,Although I have the Deleted Messages folder configured correctly to point to an existing IMAP folder, I had this issue in 7.0 and still have it in 7.02.

Oct 20, 2013 12:19 PM in response to goligoby ajm492,I see the same problem - deleted e-mails not being deleted - on all my iOS 7.0.2 devices. My wife's iphone which is still on iOS 7.0.0 does not exhibit the problem.
To recreate the issue:
delete one or more e-mails
exit the e-mail app
restart the e-mail app
the deleted email(s) will still be in the inbox
This is running against a local UW imap server which has been working with earlier iOS versions and other e-mail clients for years. No recent changes have been made to the imap server - the iOS upgrade is the only change.

I really hope that Apple solves this issue with IOS 7.0.3.
The IMAP message deletion problem still seems to be here for me, on 7.0.3.

Wait a few hours and try it agian on your phone. Per my post above I found that it seemed to work with 7.0.2 for a while after the phone booted but stopped working by the time I checked again an hour or two later.

Oct 22, 2013 10:26 PM in response to ajm492by pwlees,8 hours so far & appears to be fixed after 7.0.3 update
prior to update i tried going to settings & change the delete & archive targets to different mailboxes, saved those changes then restored back to the original delete & archive targets. it didn't work, but there might have been something that got picked up when i rebooted the ipad during the upgrade...
it may be other factors that are affecting this , to - relating to reboot rather than updates.

I updated iPhone 4S to IOS 7.0.3 and the same problem persisted for me, too. For some reason, my iPad 4 works correctly with the same mailbox and the same settings with IOS 7.0.3 (and probably worked with IOS 7.0.2). So the problem must be somehow intermittent, too.

Oct 23, 2013 9:18 AM in response to Steven Jones3by johnsbramhall,7.3 has not fixed the problem. Deleting an email from the device does delete it from the IMAP server inbox, but the message continues to reappear on the device. This is certainly the case with the UW IMAP account (that worked error free under IOS 6 versions), but seems to affect many other accounts also, judging by the threads available.
