iMessage not working with one person.

Here is a weird one! Since updating to iOS7 yesterday I cannot send iMessages to my wife! Here are the facts:

- iMessage will not go to wife from my iPhone 4S, they go as SMS even in WIFI.

- They will however send to everyone else!

- She can send iMessages to me from her iPhone 5.

- I can receive iMessages from everyone.

- She can receive iMessages from other people.

- I can send her iMessages from my iPad.

So basically it's just my phone to her phone. Settings are exactly the same on all 3 devices (except different appleIDs for me & her of course), and I have tried resets, sign outs, and reboots!

Any ideas?

I tried that and that one didn’t work for me but I reset my network settings and that worked just as another option for anyone.

Yaay! This just worked for me. I had been having issues for 4 days. I have tried everything but this actually worked. Thank you!

Excellent advice. But rather than deleting entire conversation just delete the messages sent as sms. Meaning that initially I was sending imessages but my last 3 were sms. So I deleted only those 3 and after about 10 seconds it reverted back to an iMessage window.

About an hour ago it just started working again!

I had previously signed out of all Apple id's for all features on all devices, turned all iMessaging & FaceTime off, then turned off all devices, one by one turning them back on and re-activating all features. This didn't work, but randomly it is now working!

So just give it time!

This just started happening to me this past weekend on Sept. 29. I've been using the beta since it came out for app testing. I haven't had any issues with iOS7 until this past Sunday. I had the same issue. One person I couldn't text. Then it started working later. Then today, the same thing happened. There was another person I couldn't message. I got their message, but I couldn't send. I could from my computer but that was it.

I'm having the same thing. iMessage went generally wonky last Friday, Sept. 27th. Now it's generally okay, after three restores, and daily rebooting. The exception is one person; we cannot send/receive via iPhone. iPad to iPhone is okay. Laptop to iPhone is okay. Totally unclear what's going on.

I am still having the same problem even after updating to IOS 7.0.3. I cannot imessage my daughter on my ipad 3 or my imac - it is working OK on my iphone 5s now. Also just found out I did not get an important voivemail on my uipdated iphone 2 days ago. Apple - you are a mess right now!

Yep, having the same issue. I can imessage to my colleague from my computer, but it shows up as a text from my phone. Not having this problem with anyone else.

I'm having the exact same problem as stated in the original post. Can't send iMessages to my mom's iPhone from mine. Everything else works fine with everybody else. AND it did work until one week ago!

I am not comfortable with "Just give it time!". I expect Apple to fix this bug...

I got a similar problem about that, my iMessage (especially after send and image to a person through iMessage ) couldn't send to a person. After rebooting of restart the iMessage many time, it becomes normal. However, it will happen again and again!! I was previously using iPhone 4S with iOS 7.0.3, the problem starts after upgraded to iOS 7, and now I'm using iPhone 5S with iOS 7.0.3, Same problem occurs! So I'm quite sure it is a firmware bug for the iOS 7 and I strongly request Apple Inc to take it serious and look into the matter. It cause a troubles to me and I really hope the problem should be fixed in the next upgrade.
