hey everyone. heres a simple solution.
back up and restore. this is the last troubleshooting step by applecare before they replace ur device. u need to test as new though to be sure.
update ur itunes on ur computer if it isnt already. help>check for updates
click on ur device in the itunes when it pops up after u plug it in. that will bring u to the summary page of the device. then hit back up now. this will create a back up of ur entire phone and make sure u dont lose anything.
then hit 'restore iphone' on that same page. this will replace ur software with an entirely new software package that is updated and will not have the same glitches as ur last software if it had any.
test the issue as new. in order to do full troubleshooting u will need to set it up as new instead of restoring ur itunes back up back onto it. test out ur wifi for a bit until u are either confident that it wont go out again (in which case u will need to restore ur itunes back up back onto it and test issue again) or u find that the wifi is still messed up.
if wifi is still greyed out after a restore iphone and set up as new then that means one thing and one thing only. u need to get it replaced. ur hardware is misfunctioning and no amount of tricks are gonna fix it at that point. complaining on here will not fix it. freezing it and heating it or whatever is not gonna fix it for long if at all.
if wifi is ok after the restore as new and u restore ur itunes back up back onto it and the wifi goes out again then u need to restart over on the phone. restore as new again and this time dont restore ur back up back onto it because it just brought the issue back. u will want to import ur pics and vids to a computer so u can save them, u can sync them back to a restored phone as well. u will also want to save ur contacts, reminders, calendars by syncing them with icloud, u can sync them back down to the restore iphone. u will lose application data with this process but u can redownload any past purchases from the stores simply by going to the purchased section of them.
THIS IS THE BOTTOM LINE FOR THIS ISSUE. IF U DO NOT FOLLOW THE STEPS IN THIS POST THEN YOU ARE NOT TRYING TO FIX YOUR ISSUE AND YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO COMPLAIN.
if you want to complain about this issue then u should go here to be heard.
