I just got my phone last year and I am having this problem, I love apple products but this is a big inconvenience to everyone who is having the same problem, help. Thanks.

Hey guys, first post here, so i had the greyed wifi for about a week now, tried everything you guys said: reset network settings, reset all settings, set up as a new iphone, hard reset, restore via itunes, everything and nothing worked.

So frustated i gived up, but yesterday i did a rutinary battery calibration on my 4s, i used my phone like theres no tomorrow to drain the battery (played some 3d games for like 2 hours) after that i was at 2%, let the phone turn off itself, waited 4 hours then i connected to the power source, then i went to bed and didnt touch my phone until the morning, for my surprise when i wake up my wifi was ON!! At first it didnt recognize my network so i turned off, waited 5 min and turned on, my network showed up! Now im using only my wifi connection and its working.

Dont know if it will work with you guys just thought i should share this.

Hey guys, unfortunately the only solution (so far) is to change the device. Today will be my second replacement of the product!

dragondx2- You said you bought a new WiFi module. The top part of the phone has the actual wifi antenna. After you replaced it, did your wifi work, or has it not arrived yet? I was thinking of doing the same...iphone-4s-bluetooth-antenna-flex-cable-1.jpg

Made no difference at all sorry to say I am fed up now I have tried everything I think a new phone is the only answer sadly. I have 4 x 4s's but when they are out of contract not sure I will replace them with iphone 5's. It seems to be widely accepted by everybody but Apple that this is a software glich that has caused the hardware to fail. This would be ok if it was possible to go back to previous versions of software but you can't.

I just have to say that I am now on my 3rd replacement phone. This week alone I've been to the apple store 4 times. Luckily I'm still under my 2 year apple care, but every phone has within a day, has had the wifi quit working. When they run diagnostics in the store after spending an hour wiping it at home they say there's nothing else I can do to fix it. This being my 3rd phone I'm at my wits end. I saved to buy this phone for a year, got excited it had came to my provider & now I'm considering just getting a new phone outside of apple all together.

I didn't have any issues until last week & since nothing has improved and obviously replacing it doesn't matter either. They really new to figure this crap out or they will definitely be loosing a ton of customers including me.

I deleted both find my iPhone and find my friends, reset network settings and its fixed! Thanks for that. I use IOS 6.1.4.

This solution makes sense because several apps including these two were added back to the phone after a recent iTunes sync which is when the greyed out problem started.

WOW - this worked for me - well it's now been over 3 hours and my wifi still seems fine.

After trying all the usual restore the phone procedures, and wasting loads of time on chat to apple support where the only conclusion was to persue apple through the law courts with the EU consumer laws (has anyone been successful with that 'cos I have a faulty 2008 Macbook Pro) I now have a wifi back after following the most simple steps from tgon711 to kick it back into life.

I had a newly restored iphone 4S (restored as a new phone after deleting all backups) and still wifi was greyed out.

Turned on both airplane mode and do not disturb

    shut down the phone

went out to get some beers (essential ingredient)

and after about an hour, I turned the phone back on and wifi is back.

Incredible that apple have not yet sorted this bug which is affecting so many

I also can't believe that I still love these apple products, I've had quite a torid relationship over the last few years

iMac G5 died after 2 years - repaired under apple care

iMac 27in 2011 had to have screen replaced after about 18 months

Macbook pro 2008 screen has gone faulty but after apple care expired

Sons iphone 4 home button faulty

    Daughter's iphone 4S sleep/wake button faulty

and now my 4S wifi issues after ios 7 update

    Talk about losing faith

Hey, apple tv still works ok

I just got the wifi on my iPhone 4s working on iOS 7.0.3. These are the steps i took:

1 Connect your phone to iTunes via USB.

2 Uncheck the Wifi Sync option.

3 Sync the phone via USB.

4 Check the Wifi Sync option.

5 Sync the phone via USB.

    See if that works.

Thanks eolivar20I will try that later.

How I wish it can turn back my wifi connection because this issue is killing.

What am I doing right now is to use my 3G. Our wifi connection at home is so useless to me.

I had NO PROBLEM with IOS 6.1.4.

all problems started AFTER upgrading to the lastest 7 (suggested by Apple)

If they knew about this problem they should have stopped custome to update their 4s
