I tired to do the iOS 7 update, but it started by forcing me to do a restore. After doing that, it said I could not update it. When I tried to update it, it made me connect to iTunes, when I did, it had me redo the update off of iTunes. I did and it said I had Error 29 and stopped the update. Now my phone is stuck in recovery mode. Can anyone help me?

I lightly banged my 4S on my coffee table and error 29 was resolved after at least 7 attempts to restore. It would get all the way to the firmware update and throw error 29. Worth a try, just don't bang too hard.
Have any of you just had any hardware changed in your phones? I just did a repair on a 4s that included a new battery & had the same issue, I put the old battery back in & hey presto it no longer gets stuck on the firmware update. Error 29 would seem to be an incompatibility issue
After innumerable attempts to reset and restore my iPhone 4S, I followed Andre Benoit's suggestion to install the original battery (having recently replaced it) and found it completely resolved the issue. Thank you Andre!
