Whenever I plug in my iPhone to my computer (I have a Macbook Pro), iPhoto freezes and stops working when i try to import my photos. Help? I want to import my photos because I have barely any memory left on my iPhone (I have about 3,000 photos on my phone)

Also, when just running iPhoto (when not plugging in my phone) it's REALLY really slow and takes forever to work. And I've already tried clicking alt(option) and creating a new library and that hasn't helped at all..

What does "hasn't helped at all" mean? That's suggested on here as a test. What's the outcome of the test? How does the new library perform?
How much space on your HD? How much free?
The outcome of the test is that the new library makes no difference compared to the old one, when i plug my phone in it still says "application not responding."
I have Mac OS X version 10.7.5
it says i have 4 GB and i have used 3.93 GB on my system memory
as for disk usage i have 433.9 GB available and 65.35 GB used
I just did memory clean and I now have 1.26 GB free on system memory
Whenever I try to import photos from my iphone, iphoto says "application not responding"
