iOS 7 is logging me out and making me enter my password

I'll be working on my iphone, and when I close the screen (sleep) and go back in, it makes me enter my password. It's set to 5 min, but I have been using the phone for all sorts if things right before it does this. Am I going to have to keep the screen awake just so I don't have to enter the password all the time? The new iOS is already sucking the battery much faster than iOS 6. I'm fixing to put in "never" and just not lock the phone. That's a little scary. Any help?
