iOS 7 Bluetooth Audio Auto-Start, Next/Previous Not Working

Just updated my iPhone 5 from iOS 6.1.4 to iOS 7. Playing music, auto-start when starting the car and all the hands free controls to skip a song or go back to the previous one were working perrfectly fine via Bluetooth with iOS 6 through the steering wheel controls.

The phone still connects via Bluetooth with iOS 7 and I can play music by manually starting or controlling it on the phone but the steering wheel controls no longer have any effect.

My car is a 2012 Mazda CX9.

I already deleted all Bluetooth profiles both on car and phone and re-paired. Also reset all network settings on the phone - just in case. Both without success.

Any ideas how I can get that functionality back?

I'm having an issue with my Volkswagen Golf. It has as radio that can link to the Bluetooth on the phone and use the media player. Unfortunately, since i upgraded to IOS 7, even if im not listening to the media player via Bluetooth, it switches automatically to it if i receive any kind of notification.

Any ideas how to stop this? I really only want to know when someone is calling me.

Similar issue in my 2010 Camaro. Music controls seem to work okay for the most part but hands free functions are a no-show. When I do answer a call using the phone it silences but doesn't pause the playback. For music that's ok but I listen to audiobooks while I drive and I discovered I was missing large parts of the book! Where is the "Sources" menu that used to exist in previous ios releases?

Come on Apple, we expect better from you! Fix this ASAP!!!

All bluetooth audio fuction has completely stopped for me. When linked to my car audio via bluetooth I can no longer make any phone calls or play any music. Functionality has completely ceased. All functionality was working fine with iOS6. If I had known about this I never would have upgraded.

I drive a 2011 Toyota Corolla.

I work for a large organization who provides all of our employees with corporate iPhones, we expect a lot more from Apple and have completely lost faith in immediate upgrades to new iOS operating systems. We have a contract to purchase thousands of phones each year in bulk and expect releases to be deployed only when issues that impact daily usage and car safety have been fixed during the QA cycle.

Can we please have an update on the status of a fix for these issues?

After continued troubleshooting I have managed to resolve this issue. I've outlined the steps I took for resolution below in case they may help someone else.

On iPhone:

1. Settings -> Bluetooth ->Turn OFF Bluetooth

2. Settings -> Bluetooth ->Turn ON Bluetooth

3. Locate your vechicle audio system "Car Multi-Media" -> Click the ℹ icon -> Click "Forget this Device"

4. Settings -> Bluetooth ->Turn OFF Bluetooth

6. Close the "Music" and "Phone" apps on your iPhone

On Vehicle:

5. In your vechicle's settings you must delete any existing Phone or Audio player profiles. Refer to your owners manual for these instructions.

6. Verify that you no longer have any Phone or Audio profiles existing in your vechicle's audio system.

7. Turn OFF your vechicle completely -> Wait 30 seconds for your internal RAM to clear in your vechicle

8. Turn ON your vechicle

9. Begin the process to pair your iPhone in your vechicle's audio system. You should have the options to pair as a "Phone Only" or "Phone + Internal Audio". Select whichever option applies to you. Your vechicle's audio system should now provide you with a passcode for pairing.

On iPhone:

10. Settings -> Bluetooth ->Turn ON Bluetooth

11. Select the newly dectected Bluetooth audio player, normally named "Car Multi-Media".

12. Enter Passcode -> Click "Pair" on the top right of the screen.

Issue Resolved.

At this point your iPhone should work proprely with all controls in your vechicle's audio system.

On IOS 7 Turn Off All Access "Settings==>Control Center", Shut Down and Restart your iPhone. After iPhone restart again Turn on All Access "Settings==>Control Center". Now lock your iPhone and you should be able to use all the media options now.

I tried this and now it works perfectly
